according to the site

the strip miner does 540 units in ore a cycle, does the +5% from the mining skill and +5% from the astrogeoligy add onto that? do the mining laser upgrades add to that too? i dont see this as being right because the modulelated strip miner does less, it says it does 360 units per cycle, even if the focus crystals add 12% that still isnt enough to bring it to the same level of ore harvesting that the strip miner lev one does. just confused by this because it doesnt seem right.. unless i am missing something

The bonuses from all mining skills and modules apply.
An Apoc with modulated strip miner IIs can outmine a medium barge though. Take a look at the cycle times, note that the strip miner operates in 3 minute cycles whereas the smaller miners all do it in 1 minute.

Mining crystals don't add 12%, they add either 62.5% or 75% depending on whether you're using tech 1 or 2 crystals. Do the math again using those numbers and see what you get.

Impossible to mount strip miners on anything but a barge. I am assuming the poster meant Miner II's.

modulated deep core miner IIs is probably what he means. you have to load up your apoc with a load of cargo expanders mind to match the barges as whereas they have large cargo holds giving you 6 minutes to nip off and get a drink the apoc without expanders gives you about 1 minute from last emptying as 1 modulated dcm II can fill its hold in one go near enough.
