I've been watching all of the old trailers and cant help but think this is the best trailer ever. It's dramatic and sets the scene and tells the viewer all about new eden. It's harsh, cold, brutal, unforgiving and beautiful and dramatic all at the same time.
In short it's the Revelations II trailer.

@OP I agree with your choice. I wish CCP would make some short stories following the eve universe. Maybe a 30min CGI movie for each faction. EvE writers have talent and more back story to this game would be more then welcome by fans i'm sure. Doesn't even have to be CGI, could be still images with narration. |

Easily The Butterfly Effect and Causality. Both put strong emphasis on player interaction as the core of EVE. This is what makes EVE interesting.

I like the Casuality trailer too, it has some artistic licence but not as much as the new rubicon trailer. I like it because it focuses on the more human side of eve online, namely all of the scamming and the deceit.

OP, the perception of all trailers is colored by the expansion itself that accompanied it. The one you linked was interesting, but its among a boring group of pretty similar trailers that consisted of wide panning shots of spaceships with boring srs business philosophical voice overs. Of the ones like that, I really liked the inferno trailer.
I think the Dominion trailer is one of my favorites however. Its tells the story of a particular battle in cohesive format, borrows heavily from the actual metagame, as well as the jargon actually used in Eve. it also showcases the international nature of Eve, and you gotta love the Russians as the bad guys against the various European accents. I also very much liked the Eve: Origins trailer.

I really liked the the TYRANNIS trailer. It delivered well, good voice actors and a great soundtrack to it.

Some of the other trailers are better as entertainingly flashy noisy fluff, but for an actual trailer for EVE, there is only one contender.

Agree with this.
While the other ones are plenty awesome, and the latest ones that try to tell a story are interesting, nothing captures the scope and sense of awe EvE can generate.
I really wish they'd make a new version with the updated graphics and newer ships. If I had any EvE recording and editing skills, I do so myself. |

The effect has a much longer history than that, EVE Never Fades uses it and dates back to Exodus(?), in fact it could almost be called a trope of EVE trailers. |
