I'm getting back into the game slowly and I am trained purely in gallente. A few friends and I are just going to hang out in lowesec for the hell of it and I was looking for some tips on what gallente frigates are good to use?
- Are assault ships good for pvp? ishkurs in particular? - What about normal frigates? Which fitting of which ship is viable? - are gallente interceptors any good?
I'm going to play with a couple of noob friends and I can afford t2 frig class ships and their fittings. We're going to blow up for sure but I don't mind.
I looked quite a few pages but can't find anything relevant and eve search only brings old topics which I can't really trust. |

Taranis, Ishkur, Incursus and Tristan are all good at what they do. |

AF's aren't very good in pvp, but size limitations in FW and ordinary plexes make them viable. Ishkur is one of the best AF's. Rifters and Merlins are best among T1 frigates. Punisher lack tackle, others just bad. Both gallente intys are good.
Btw, most powerful frigs are Dramiel and Daredevil. 1st is half-gallente and 2nd is pure gallente Dram is very versatile and easy to handle, DD is direct opposite. |

Hey now...the incursus and tristan both have some nice pvp ability, especially against rifter pilots that suicide dive into them. Tristan takes a lot of skills, though. |

I personally love the Tristan as a cheap PvP platform.
It can put out around the same DPS as the Incursus but that 3rd low lets you add a bit more Tank or DPS.
The up incoming changes will let you fit a MWD and Ions at the same time. The AB Ion fit is not bad for brawling letting you control range.
I use this fit for Frig Gangs.

I have used the Dmg Rig setup but with split weapons system I prefer to leave that to the Incursus.

A weapon in ape hands is a piece of iron
All T1 frigates have dps, have tank, have etc, and you may more or less successfully fly them. Especially in a fleet where details don't matter.
But I strongly recommend Rifter and only Rifter as "flying desk" for newbs. And Rifter/Merlin for ppl who already have several millions of SP. |
