So with the current situation of 'who fits the biggest Nos wins' in PvP what would you recommend to counteract this?
i.e. I fly a Rax, i can kill cruisers, Battlecruisers and everything smaller because I have equal or bigger Nos's than they do and my tank/cap will hold steady. But if I get jumped by a battleship, multiple cruisers or anything with a Large Nos on it's i'm in serious trouble.
What should I do? And no, fitting WCS's and running away is NOT an option!

Who fits bigger nos? Weird, because if it would be like this then only phoons and domis would win in pvp, while they are not. -=-

Oh yes they do - but that is because of the NOS/Drone Dom thing :O)

ôSo with the current situation of 'who fits the biggest Nos wins' in PvP what would you recommend to counteract this?ô A passive shield tank with a mix of mostly Neutralizers with 1 or 2 nos is a brilliant counter. Any ship 1v1 with lots of Nos will never be able to kill you if you passive shield tank.

Not sure why you think PvP is only about Nosferatus. Nosferatus are only relevant in small engagements.
If anything PvP is more about whoever gets the first succesful jamming cycles.

qft
but i guess they are still shield tanking their mids insted of ecm.
and this thred is just another "nerf nos" thred. cut the forplay and speak ur mind, u think there is something wrong with nos, then say so and talk about it directly insted of this **** way

Yeah this is rediculous. I can't believe a thorax can't solo kill battleships with ease.

ôIf anything PvP is more about whoever gets the first succesful jamming cycles.ö ThatÆs not always true. There are FoF missiles and drone ships are deadly. Even when jammed the drones hit the enemy who are jamming you. That can be deadly for the jammer now that drones do very high damage. I believe the Dominix is now one of the highest DPS ships.

so..do ECM's work under 20km's? I heard they don't but then again thats only what I've heard. If they don't work under 20km then they're really useless 1v1. -------------- now this is the way a sig should be Xio2 |

I did not say that it is always true. I said that if there is one central thing that PvP tends to hinge on these days its ECM, while the OP thinks its nosferatus.
ECM completely turns anything but the largest engagements where lag makes it problematic. Nosferatus are irrelevant past small engagements because they take a significant amount of time to have an impact.

You say 'only' like its no big deal. Small scale PvP is a big part of this game, there are many people out there who like flying in pairs or solo. .___. {-,-} /)__) -"-"- Inactive as of 11-02-06. Still Whorum Foring though.

I'm quite aware how easy it is for a rax to kill a bs in certain situations. But the point is it certainly should not be able to do so 100% of the time. Thats where nos come in.
Why is it so wrong that a 60 mil bs can defeat a 6 mil cruiser by fitting a nos or two.
There is no problem with nos or neuts.
Smaller ships should not be able to take out bigger ships all the time. There has to be limits on what cruisers and hacs can do.

*Muth points his tach II on you ass!*
HANDS UP AND STEP AWAY FROM THE NOS!
Do not be touching the nos I tell you. It works fine as it is. It has it limitations and it have it's spesial use. It only works for close combat and you can easily work around it and even if your being nossed it doesn't meanthe nosser will survive. It's not unbalansed as far as I see it. It's strickly a support weapon, it's like screaming for nerf on the scramblers and webbers.
Edit: repeating myself for the win. My thoughs

It isn't a big deal when you look at ECM in the same context. ECM completely neutralizes Nosferatus AND its alot more prevalent in all sized engagements.
