I am planning on setting up a few factory planets in Highsec.
I have the P1 in production already in lowsec.
Would it be more profitable to:
a) Set up P2 and P3 factories on the same planet.
b) Have separate planets for P2 and P3 factories. |

If you set up the P1->P3 chain on the same planet you will produce goods at lower costs due to cutting one export/import cycle.
Btw. P2/P3 factories are actually the same (Advanced Industry Facility). |

IMO p2 and p3 on same planet. You can definitely fit both on the same planet and keep as many factories as possible to a single planet. Then your p1 planets can maximize their yield. A planet with JUST p2-p3 will have way more capacity generally than what you can feed it if you're just sourcing from your own PI network, because you'll have more fittings for p3 processors, and you'll have less production from other planets because you'll be fitting p2 processors.
Best setup is 2 launchpads, 2 silos. import to launchpad, expedited transfer, export second good. Then between them put your p3 factories. I think my setup was like 8 of each p2 and 4 p3 factories last time i did it. Route the finished p2 product to the respective silos, then route finished p3 to one or both of the launchpads. Why can't I delete this signature? |

People extremely often tell you to only produce P1 or P2 on every planet and manufacture it all on one other planet. DONT DO THAT BECAUSE IT TAKES FOREVER TO HAUL ALL THE CRAP. |

yes its true but with this configuration your daily product are lower than separated planetes ,because the limits of PG/CPU processor
but hard to have 100% efficiency of all chain product with separate planets
exemple 1 infra with 15 processor advanced for P3 , you need to have 30 Processor for P2 per composant (6 infra ) , etc etc with limit of 18 infra by account (6 per charactere)

the only problem with p3 on a single planet is that the number of products you can do from extractors to p3 is quite limited, and you are spending a lot of CPU/powergrid on the factories that could be used for more extractor heads. While it is true that you lose less money because you have less export fee to pay, in the end I am not sure you gain that much because of the reduction in material input.
