Ok, I understand that CCP has fixed the Baby roid problem... slightly, however I am still finding many baby bistot roids. I understand that the rocks are intended to grow but will there ever be a masssive respawn of ore in future? A few weeks ago bistot respawned in all the intended systems at the high values we expect will this happen again?
The reason I am asking this is because there are many players mining the baby rocks and not allowing them time to grow. If this continues like this there will be a shortage the high-end minerals. I can already see the prices rising... and rising

Simple answer: they haven't fixed the baby asteroid problem yet. Anything rarer than Kernite does NOT grow (or if it does, it doesn't grow the way it was intended to).
Ores are also being reallocated incorrectly, as is evident in the "super turd asteroids" of common ore asteroids which have actually merged, usually in low sec space.
The developer "in charge" is still "sick," the last I heard. Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon.

Kind of makes you wish you hoarded megacyte and zydrine, huh?
I don't know about how long this issue will remain. I know LeKjart was mentioned in terms of the asteroid/ore thing, but he hasn't been back. For all we know he's reading the message boards from home and freaking out about all the flaming at the developers .
Here's hoping he gets well and comes back to CCP game development. We all miss him.

Maybe they intended "baby rocks". I mean they wouldn't want bistot rocks with a 5k radius
Bistot would be so easy to mass, and inflation would appear
Can't think of a solution myself, so I think making them grow will have to do >_<

Ok, if thats your idea of things working be prepared for many miners going out of business and ship production grinding to a halt.

Have you guys tried to mine out entire asteroid fields???
I mean when you do each Monday the fields respawn at their original size.
I know this works for Hedbergite and less asteroid fields...

not quit true with the totally empty belts spawning on mondays, it mey be the case in some areas but not all, I have cleaned out many belts and even after 2 weeks they still have small roids, but they are getting bigger by the day. Spawn of the Devil

The rare ores haven't grown properly because you haven't been mining the 'common' ores of those systems. Their taking up the 'alotted' m3 of ore that system has. Kill the common ores (not just mine some, KILL them) and every thing should grow properly.
Ive tested this in a unoccupied 0.0 system with no traffic. And it works. Mind you, it takes a LONG time to individually kill those rocks, but you corps who group mine should find it easier.
Plus, you can sell the mins from those rocks for isk while you 'tend the farm', so to speak. It ain't over till the fat lady falls on ya!

I think that might be a valid point you have there Johnson. I'm gonna try and get some people together to test this. If it works it will be a good patch up job, but we do need a more long term solution from from the devs if they are even listening

Can you not open fire on rocks? If you could, getting rid of the 100000k Radius scordite rocks in 0.0 would be great.
Then we can sit back, and watch the Bistot grow :)

The 100k radius roids are becoming a navigational hazard. Being able to remove them without mining lasers is something the devs should look into when they fix the baby roid problem.
... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture. |

I found a 110k rock, was concerned I couldnt mine it. Mostly cause I couldnt target it. Then I powered up my Prototype Sensor Booster, which punched my Megathrons range from 75k to 120k+, and I could lock on. And being as close to the roid as I could get, the miners just hit the surface which was pretty much point blank. It ain't over till the fat lady falls on ya!

As for the mining out the whole system thing. Me and my corp have completely strip mined a whole system out. The best ore in this system was Crockite. It has been mined out for a while now, like about a week, and the Crokite and Dark Ochre are still just baby rocks. As is everything else. It seems to be growing at the rapid rate of about 3 per day. Day one, rock has 3 units in it, day 2, 6 units, day 3, 9 units and so on and so forth. Is it intended to be this slow? At this rate, we should be able to mine it again in ohh, say about another 2 months to make it worth the time?

Minor spelling error there, but yes... OMG astropods would rock! :)
They could be implemented as an unmanned drone that could jump. It would add a new aspect to corp wars - People would fling pods at each other, and the defenders would have to routinely clear their system of pods mining their roids...
Who would've thought we'd be playing another game that centered around roids and podding? :)
And PA used to rock, but it sucks now. Was best when there were 200k+ players. Round 4 would've been amazing w/o the parallel system. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

Not all fields get respawned on mondays.
