After having come back to Eve after a 6 month hiatus, i am finding it hard to get my head around ship fitting, especially minmatar ships, which i always struggled to fit anyway.
Has anyone got any thoughts on what would be good on a Huginn (along with the obvious webifiers)?
I'm currently thinking along the lines of the following.
High 1) 650mm Artillery II 2) 650mm Artillery II 3) 650mm Artillery II 4) ??? Nos or launchers ??? range on Nos does not match webs unfortunately. 5) ??? 6) ???
Mid 1) 10MN MWD II / 10MN AB II 2) Webifier 3) Webifier 4) ??? 5) ??? 6) ???
Lo 1) ??? 2) ??? 3) ???
Is it worth continuing with this line and making it a long range (40km-60km) web platform for fleet ops? The webs seem like an obvious use for this ship, just not sure what my best options for the rest of the slots are atm. Is it better putting an armour tank or a shield tank on in the rest of the mid or lo slots, or is it better to just maximise it's tackler potential ?. As i have access to a bpo, I am not too worried about losing a few to active pvp testing ----------------------------------------- If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, shoot it, it might move later. |

What are you doing with the NOS? Low slots help with energy. Opponents normally have a really hard time coming into NOS range.
Why 650mm Artillery instead of the 720mm? I always found the 650ies to be missing the correct OOomph. The RoF on the 720ies matches the webber's cycle time pretty good.
I played around with assault launcher II and (precision/rage) light missiles for the fast RoL. This leaves plenty of fitting options. Heavy launchers will support long range fire better while reducing the fitting options.
Dual Painter for me. +100% Sig radius rocks. One Webber is enough for most encounters. While the guns rip the last bits off a targeted ship, I switch the missiles and webber to the next target.
Shield booster and Amplifier for tanking.
My drones are there is something sneaks into close range. Targets normally pop before the drones are in combat range.
Low slots ... hmmm Energy? Damage Control? Speed? Whatever floats your boat. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

Not sure what i was thinking with the Nos actually. Probably habit from older setups. ----------------------------------------- If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, shoot it, it might move later. |

The reason i went for 650mm Arty II's is grid useage. At 55 more PG each it is difficult to fit 3 720's as well as the MWD and the launchers.
I suppose for fleet roles another option might be to go with Autocannons and Heavy Missiles for defense against any tacklers that get past the long range webifiers. And having target painters also makes the heavier autocannons a more viable option.
The different options are too varied at the moment. I guess i just need to go a try a few setups. ----------------------------------------- If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, shoot it, it might move later. |

I set up a Huginn recently, for someone else. I set it up for when it's with friends, as I dont believe you can fully take advantage of it's bonuses as a solo ship. Not to say it can't be set up to solo, but it's better as a group ship.
3x 650mm II 3x Heavy Launcher II (carrying precision heavies as well as normal)
3x Fleeting Web 2x P.W.N.A.G.E. Target Painter (or whatever the best one is called now) 1x Sensor Booster II
1x 400mm Tungsten 1x Explosive Hardener II 1x Kinetic Hardener II
4x Valkyrie
Cap will stabilise at 50-60% when running everything at once.
If you hang one of these around a Sniper Tempest who's packing two remote armour reps in his 7th and 8th hislots, you'll see stuff go boom.

messing around with quickfit:
220mm ac II x 3 heavy launcher II x 3 ab II x 1 best webs you can afford x 2 best scrambler you can afford x 1 large shield extender II x 2
3 low slots for cap modules, damage modules, or for those modules that shall not be mentioned.
tbh I can't wait for ccp to finally release assault missiles.

Thanks for the replies. Seems that even after 6 months not much has changed, apart from armour plates being added to a lot of setups.
Having discovered that my corp also holds a 400mm tech II Armor plate bpo makes me happy.
My last target painter skills are training now, so i'll be losing a few of these soon as i discover the joys of pvp in eve again :) ----------------------------------------- If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, shoot it, it might move later. |

Don't start celebrating just yet. Rolled Tungsten plates are better than tech II of the same class - they add less mass to the ship, are easier to fit and add only a bit less HP than tech II.
