just wanted to thank Fix for the fight in x4-
Engagement was a good heads up battle with Fix gang jumping into x4- were Sa was waiting. mostly even 13 vs 13ish give or take but fairly even engagement.
Sadly both sides was eaten by the lag monster that mysteriously engulfed both Fix and SA.
Thank u Fix for the fight. sadly we couldnt enjoy the experience even with a small gang...

Edited by: Aceformat on 25/02/2006 07:52:51 The reason behind the lag monster was probably due to the hardware maintaining the absolute blood bath that was D-7 to H-W in the north (Over 200 ships), after breaking the new hardware in and then in the end breaking it

Try waiting for the blood patch that is programmed to take advantage of the new servers before spouting off, k?

Valar has been posting about the lag issues here (including that huge battle you mentioned): http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=299096
Apparently its not CPU load that is causing the lag, its something else that they are trying to figure out.

yes i think your right. it wasnt cpu related. interestingly all moduals were working however the ships didnt respond. also the frame rate was very smooth. previous lag monster everything just froze. so yes improvement has been made but now a new version of the lag monster is here hehe...
as for waiting for more patches upon patches upon patches i think everyone on the eve community are done with excuses. there are many people already quitting game sadly lots of old school dont play anymore because game isnt fun anymore and that once enjoyable gank and good ol even pvp engagements as small as 15 on each side cant escape Lag Monster.
Who remembers the day u could throw 200 ships in any system and just Duke it out? I do...

Intel is certainly not better at AMD especially at servers

i remember those days, i have very fond memorys of the dsma/cfs/star vs fa/fix "qdf then if i remember", orion and a few others. that first big battle in tapar was the single most fun event ive had. lately its been kinda a slump due to the whole lag thing.. _______________________________________________

hmmm....thats not what the market share statistics are showing for the last few years....AMD is gaining in the server/workstation market, intel is losing...

Yeah, what should have been a fun fight was really messed up with the lag. That was worse than large fleet battles
I really hope CCP can sort the lag... I thought my PC had locked up for a while there
Anyway, thanks to the SA guys for bringing a good, smack-free fight. Was still fun. And good on Shivan for hanging in there right to the end even though it cost him a recon ship. Good stuff.

do you guys work with those things or on testing? if not dont make comments like amd > intel in server jobs. pls, i made thousands of tests and it doesnt show what propaganda is, hehe. when it comes to full load, to its limits, intel based server, if rightly configured, will pwn any amd opteron combination. all in all, ccp made a good move by moving to blade servers. p.s. fix and SA hf

We just had a 10 vs 20 battle in empire with no lag except for one of our pilots that crashed but it seems it's down to what computers and connection ppl have now

in some cases with old computers i would agree but with new hardware and a **** load of ram 4gigs and a t1 connection or better if your getting same issues as everyone else then u point fingers to the game not indivisuals personal hardware...
