I have a SB X-Fi Platinum and I hear very load snaps and *****les with any explosion. Looks like it's a SB issue since my Santa Cruz didn't do that. ----------------------------------------------

I had the same ticking noise and driver updates didn't help at all. Only on eve. Every other game I have, or sound editing prog works fine. So I disabled sound and listen to music instead.

I have the same issue. It seems to be only with certain types of gun for me. I can hear *****ling when they're activated. I also get no sound when the ship cloaks before and after a using a jump gate.
Weird.

Known issue Eve and Harware acceleration on sound cards doesnt work too well. Try turning hardware acceleration off on your sound cards the popping and clicking will probably go.

Oh excellent thanks. I will try that. What does the hardware acceleration fo normally? Will changing that option effect any other game/application?
Thanks for the info! On a trial account so quite eager to see if I can get the game running well before I make the plunge?

I have the same problem with weird sounds in battle. I have an onboard soundcard, AC97 I think. Never had this problem in another application. And I don't want to deactivate hardware-acceleration. Why wont CCP just fix it?
