Ok, the game is amazing, but after some times passed to read log file and menus, i feel my eyes hot and tired. after 2 hours i can play more or i became blind :(
i play 1280*1024 (with 75Hz refresh)
I'm asking for a fix to resize ingame font. From options menu i don't note changes with 10 or 12 font type. nothing works except condensed/normal/extended but it's not enough to safe my eyes. please fix this problem (if i could use external font...) or i can't play more this game :(
sorry for english, i'm italian.

The 10/12 points are for the rightclick context menu font size.
In chats you can use the three aA buttons on top to increase font size, other than those two options, you can not change the general font size.

Its widely known that the font is exceptionally poor and cheap looking . But as to getting it changed I seriously doubt that CCP will do anything about it.

I run at 1028x1024, but then again I'm running a 21" LCD panel, so it's not all that small for me.
What size is your monitor?

Sorry but doesnt a 21 " Lcd have native resolution of 1600x1200.? So you have to run eve, out of the native resolution of your monitor to be able to play?
My solution involves replacing the poor ccp font file with another one.
Yes it is. against the Eula. but now I have a game (that I pay for in currency not isk) that I can actually play without my eyes bleeding :)
And everyone knows that to supply the file is not breaking anyones EULA contract, Using it on the other hand is another matter. ( still waiting for the ccp response to my question).
As I have previously re iterated. without posting the file. It is possible to send it to you via e-mail.
hope this Helps

LCD monitors work just the same as CRT, the only difference is you get the best picture quality at it's native resolution. You can scale anything games or even the desktop resolution to whatever you want.
I run at about 1400x1050 as well, windowed so I can do other things while playing.

More and more people are playing on thier HDTVs. I just started the trial period and havn't found a way to get the text to an acceptable reading size yet.
Ive got 12 days and counting. Would love to see more of the game but gonna have to be able to read the text to do that.
This is a issue that more and more potential customers are going to be experiencing and it would be in everyones best intrest for it to be addresed.
If there is a working work around please post it.
Thanks for your time

Try adding the line:
advancedDevice=1
in your prefs.ini in the cache folder. It really does help, as you can set your default font width. I too run at a native 1280x1024, so I was very much thrilled when I could change the font to something that was at least readable. If you havn't added the line already, when you hit 'esc' and go to the generic game settings, you'll be able to change your font width from condensed, to normal, or expanded. Expanded is by far much easier to read at higher resolutions. Hope it helps some.
Cheers,
Rin

Is the font too small for your dpi settings or is it just too small to read? Cause it's fine to me.

hi all i can forgive patches causing crashes(ok does happen) and bugs and downtime for maintenance but something as simple as the game font being too small?
i know of at least one frined who stopped playing because of it
i have a 21 incher and even at lowest res fonts are ONLY JUST bearable and i have 2 7800GTX vid cards so i would love to take EVE to 1280 or 1600 even
Olly if it's ok i will contact you in game :)

I agree - the Eve font is terrible and I too get tired and have sore eyes after just 20 mintes or so of play.
I understand that hacking the GUI is against the EULA, but I get the feeling this is only frowned upon by CCP is this instance else this thread would have been nerfed already.
That said - the real question here is why isnt CCP looking at fixing the font if it is generally disliked?
I'll also contact you in game for the fix as my eyes are more important than CCP's EULA. Period.
