My alt has been flying the Flycatcher about a week now and I've noticed a couple of things about them that make me wonder whether they're just bugged or worst still, of little practical use.
1) I'd been told that interdictors could drag someone out of warp. (i.e wait at a safespot between gates drop a sphere then wait for a enemy to get caught), but I've tried this and it most certainly doesnt do this. 2) They're useless at gate camps as I've discovered as long as someone has initiated the warp before the spere is dropped then they wont be scrambled, even if they're slap bang in the middle of the scramble range of the sphere.
I'm just wondering here what the actual point of an interdictor is here, or am I doing something wrong. Any ideas anyone?

I know that they don't drag someone out of warp mid-warp, but I've been dewarped 100 KM from a gate. When you're expecting to arrive 15km, that's a bit of a blow. Especially when people are sitting next to the bubble, waiting for you. So that's a possible use.
(I did survive, though. Interceptors 4tw =])

As far as I'm aware, that "pulling out of warp" thing never was what they were supposed to do. Basically, they're mobile bubbles, that's it.
And about people being able to warp off it's the same for regular scramblers (the modules), if someone has initiated warp already, they're off no matter what. Annoying, but that's the way life is... ____________________ first!!1!! -Capsicum Eris would love to be hirr, kinda -Eris Your Sig is to large, please read the forum rules - Ductoris [green]Wha |

ok, well that answers the first one. But the module for warp scrambling will stop a warp even after someone has initiated it, if it didnt then no-one would ever get scrambled at a gate camp as they could just initiate the warp while still cloaked.

Yeah they are a bit disappointing, especially the fragility of the ship itself __________________ Retard's handbook |

Throwing one on a ship aligning for warp would still stop it right?

If you mean an Interdictor dropping a bubble, it won't.

Thats just the problem, it doesnt. Once they begin to align even if you dropped one right next to the ship it will not stop it from warping.

I have a flycatcher and sabre. Could care less about the interdiction sphere launcher tbh. Sure, they are all glass cannons, quicker than greased monkey doodoo on a hot day, and expensive, but damn they are fun. Bit too easy to fit up the flycatcher with 6 standard launchers and bombard a tackled enemy at 45-55km. Fitting up the sabre with all T2 250mm artillery is a complete pita, but it's an AC monkey good for ramming the bejesus out of people.
Use the flycatcher as you would a 3 standard missile fit crow. Thukker |

Hm true that. Guess I've been bugged quite a lot of times then... ____________________ first!!1!! -Capsicum Eris would love to be hirr, kinda -Eris Your Sig is to large, please read the forum rules - Ductoris [green]Wha |
