Turning off turrects, effects, sound *and* closing the overview ftw /o\
(quite serious about the last one. not sure how the UI drawing is done in EVE, but having 100+ ships in that box is perhaps the biggest single fps killer in the game ... on par with the turrets drawing anyway >.<
Probably (in part) comes from the client having to carry out processes to update and resort the scanner every cycle on top of everything else going on.

I don't care what it 'seems' to you. I'm pointing out a fact. I'm here to smack as the alt's name states. Calling me names won't alter that, but go ahead and smack me away. I'm not as sensitive as some others in this tread, so If pointing out truth bothers the hypocrites that say they don't like smack, yet smack themselves, too bad. Now go mind your own business if you don't like it.

Nah you just try to claim some moral highground by saying omg they had soo many stabs. omg omg. They are part of the game. If u use em like Burn eden do, u're ghey. But putting 1 or maybe 2 on a ship for travelling or whatever other purpose is perfectly normal imo. Every1 in this game uses stabs on occasion.
But u feel the need to make yourself look better by calling the other ppl in the imk fight stabusers. Now why is that woody?

about lag: jumpin lag is still there, but the suprise was the missing warpin lag.
i remember a fight against bob some weeks ago. after a warpout-warpin the hole grid was cought in a closed loop. +200 stuck pettitions, alot of work for the GMs.
at IMK i warped out and in 6 or 7 times and the lag (grid-loading) was around 5 seconds. i had mod-lag under 2 seconds. not perfect but playable and a lot of fun.
on other side some ppl reported heavy lag and i wonder why lag could be so variable. am i scary? |

Imho it all depends on how long the client is running, and how many jumps you did before fighting. Travelling in a fleet can produce a big memory leak in my client

I warped out fine and I did not have stabs fitted. Even with that interdictor dropping bubbles, we still had no problems. I am surprized with that zerg frig fleet you guys could not atleast scramble 1 or 2 of us each time we warped in and out. It must have been 80 frigs at the end of the fight.

Even if you turn off effects you will get the scramble message. The option to turn off the messages is comming in the blood patch which has not hit TQ yet.

OK, Ill answer this one post, then Im out. We IRON dont like these boards.
Nearly 80 tacklers-with teh fleet discipline and quality FC's of IRON-were well within scram range of a BS fleet. Yet most all of those BS's AND frigs warp away.
Now Im not going to chastise for one Stab...but 80 tacklers... ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever |

No amount of stabs would have helped vs 80 tacklers. So you really need to come up with something better then the little whining kid routine cus you didn't get what you wanted.

Edited by: Kalened on 27/02/2006 19:20:53 Edited by: Kalened on 27/02/2006 19:20:05 If 5 was using stabs and it helped them survive then isnt that kind of the point? Seriously this bashing over stabs is retarded. It's part of the game and if they employed it to their advantage than kudo's to them.
All this nonsense about IRON being poor tacklers is retarded as well. Everyone in this game knows the ability of IRON friggy fleets. We've had alot of practice tackling for G and we will continue our tradition of excellence through this latest campaign.
There is a 3rd option. Could there have been a bug with scramblers and the interdictors bubbles? I don't really know but isnt it a possibility?
I wasnt at the fight but watching the video you could see the frigs well within 5's fleet. It's either a bug or stabs. Either way it sure looked like alot of fun. It looked like there was alot of experience calling orders on both sides. Looks like this is shaping up to be a fun war.

Edited by: Wizie on 27/02/2006 19:22:02 Good video, seemed like a decent fight. Lots of people warping out and back in several times over. Means quite a few didnt have severe lag.
That frig fleet was overkill, and probably ended the fight prematurely.
Fewer people will not engage a larger force, specially if they have 50-60 tacklers in numbers totaling about 220.

The proof is in the fraps. Where were the warp scramble messages? With that many frigs I'd expect to see at least 2/3 warp scramble msgs but there was a clean screen as the fleet was gangwarped out.... Also on the final engagement shown in the fraps there was no interdictor bubble up... so that makes that point moot.
