Since the hardware upgrade & small patch the game crashes to desktop very often. Before the upgrade all was fine. CTDs are baad mmkay?
I was hoping this game would at some point get beyond the beta-stage . Obviously CCP has other priorities.

You're kind of offensive mmkay?
First off, you may be the only person who's having this problem. Then again, you may not be. Have you even checked? There are steps to follow that will help you resolve a problem like this. The first one is NOT "Go moan on the forums about how EVE sucks teh big 0nE!1!"
Have you looked in the technical support forum? Have you e-mailed the support address? Have you asked anyone else if they've had a similar problem and if they've found a fix?

Yeah, random crashes when entering new systems... the only pattern I can find is perhaps its entering busy systems, autopilot checks to see if system is 'stuck' and some kind of lag loop occurs which results in the player being kicked?

Considering this doesnt happen to everyone, we can assume there is a problem your end rather than on the server or client program.

I'm assuming you mean on SiSi, as the autopilot evasion systems haven't been included in a release patch yet. Nor in fact was anything included in the last minipatch that accompanied the server upgrade bar an IP redirect. People who are experiencing more crashing since the server upgrade are probably finding some other event occurring, rather than the upgrade being responsible.
I suggest you start by clearing your cache, and then run the logserver whilst you are playing. If you continue to crash, please submit a zipped version of the logserver file you save, accompanied by the generated crashdump file .dmp from your C:/eve/logs folder, and a directX diag file. Sumit them attached with a full description of the error here!
The more BRs with full information and accompanied files we receive the faster we can locate the issue. Unfortunately forum threads, or /signed threads don't help so much as we cannot generate each and every possible hardware configuration a player might be using.

I quote you here: Bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, ...beyond beta stage, bla, bla, bla.
I doubt you even was in the beta and I hope, for your own sake, that your post is a poor attempt at joking. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Bunny. Copy Bunny into your signature to help him on his way to world domination. |

Well i've had the same problems with CTD's.. after some testings on my computer it turned out to be a faulty ram. After changing the faulty ram, no more CTD's

Might be true - might be not true ...
on some fleet ops such CTDs occured every few hours ... while jumping with 40 or so people into a system sometimes 30%-50% of the people get a CTD at allmost the same time when jumping (quite funny to listen on TS ) ...
heard yesterday when it occured on TS something about a error message that appeared ... but can't verify this - i was a lucky one .. but gonna ask my corpmates about this

Such a crash to desktop will generatae a crashdump file, and if its happening very frequently, people will also be able to capture it on the logserver. Help us to eliminate this issue. As stated above, crashdump, logfile and dxdiag all zipped into a single attachment please.
The logserver can be cleared frequently with a simple ctrl-del keypress which will minimse the file size and ensure it doesn't eat your computers memory.

Edited by: thesleeper on 26/02/2006 11:33:41 Yep, i get this a lot, probably because I do mainly courier missions. As mentioned earlier the client crashes out of game with no error message or restart when jumping and docking/undocking.
I've tried all the fixes mentioned but still struggle on I personally think it's got to be a connection based problem as many never have this and have never crashed out of game in my corp. I hate all you who dont crash btw
Edit: *starts up logserver*

True, yesterday we lost more than 50% of our gang with a CDT right at the first gate or 2nd gate. Think we were about 15 people and the system was almost empty. Then we didn't have a mass cdt for a few hours. It's a bit strange. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |
