trying to pick a bloodline for a miner toon.
Problem is looking at the various races ships I can't really decide on one.
The caldari have some good ones, the amarr have the cap for multiple lasers, the minmatar have a few decent ones (with the right skills), and the galis have the drone bays and decent ships...
Any advice?
(I do like the look of some ships from each faction to boot, and hate others)

Well if you're a dedicated miner, go for an Osprey and then work up your Mining Barge skills.
If you want to mine casually from time to time and maybe explore other areas of EVE, you can't go wrong with Amarr. The Apoc is actually not that far behind from T1 Barges.

I do like the amarr ships (some of them) and no excessive ammo costs for the lasers (just one time crytal purchases.. for standard crystals).
the osprey looks nice, and so do alot of the other ships there (stats and looks).
some say go with the drone ships instead... but that is a whole extra skills set to train
The minmatar have the speed, except for a few amarr that are faster...

Weren't all races given mining ships like frigs and cruisers with bonuses? It doesn't matter to me. Just read the description and buy whatever ship. Put the appropriate gear on.

all have miner frigates and such, but I am going with minmatar again (I just like them best)
the probe is the best miner, and it gets no bonuses. It just seems to outperform the miner frigate.
The threasher is a decent mining rig (using it now) with a couple cpu upgrades allowing 4 gallium(sp?) mining lasers. (but not much else but a survey scanner)
Thinking of sticking with what I know, and the minmatar may be a bit hindered versus others... but with the right skills I can make it work
Plus can make a starting toon with frigates 4 and spaceship command 3 which is a big plus
