Edited by: Bellac on 28/02/2006 10:35:04 This is the first i heard of this. I hope there will be some sort of offical news post about this before the patch day on tuesday. Its no good hiding such an important mod to a dev blog that nobody reads (A lot of players dont even read this forum never mind the blogs) We need a propper warning before implimentation so we can sort things out.
Speculation is one thing, but we need some facts.
Are we going to loose items over the 1000 cutoff. sods law will make it so that we all loose our best kit
Can we use station cans to get round the problem? (If so then I have nothing to worry about)
What happens to someone who has thousands of items in his hold and runs some manufacture jobs over the patch DT. Will he not be able to take delivery?
Is it 1000 stacks or 1000 items? (i guess stacks else we are all in trouble with piles of trit lol)
Also 1000 item stacks is alot, and i guess will only hurt people who dont repackage/stack their items, and peeps with loads of BMs. does anyone have over 1000 stacks of loot in their hold?

Seems quite simple to me.
Player (as self) cannot put more than 1000 stacks of items into any container/hangar, but the system is not limited to that.
But the interesting part is:
What happens when a player has more than 1000 stacks of items in hangar and each stack is bigger than movable containers can handle?
In this scenario, the player cannot buy a station warehouse to put those stacks into container to clear out the hangar to have room for the container, so that he could clear out the hangar, to have room for the container....

There's a reason there's this limit. I'm thinking there's more than one person with 2000+ bms in his hanger.
Though I am miffed that this won't let me pull my "spend ten hours separating the Tritanium in corp hanger to lag it for an hour when opened" prank anymore :P Teamwork is the only "I Win" button in Eve.--Ulthar

Escrow as many stacks as you need to yourself (or alt if you're not able to escrow to yourself, never tried :|). Buy station warehouse. Move stuff still in hangar in to warehouse. Claim escrow.

I don't really get it? I've got 6500 items in my container and it doesn't block me from adding more??

It's crap to be honest, you shouldnt have bms in a hangar, either in ur bm folders or not, end of story
Ill to be honest, we shouldnt be limited to whats in the corp hangar, its there for our use and not for ccp to tell us what we can and cant have in our hangars, this is getting stupid
CCP dont do this This Sig May Contain Voilent Messages that Only A Trained Spy Of Assassin Can See, mmkay? |

any limit CCP impose is going to be fairly arbitrary, and almost certainly won't affect 99% of the people playing eve. The other 1% are whinging bastards anyway, and it cheers me up no end that their life will become more difficult.

That's becasue the limit isn't in the game yet - it will stop letting you put more items in after the patch. I suggest that you have a sort-out and get the count below 1000 per container before then - it'll be a lot easier than trying to do it afterwards.
Originally by: Durvaul Ill to be honest, we shouldnt be limited to whats in the corp hangar, its there for our use and not for ccp to tell us what we can and cant have in our hangars, this is getting stupid
It's their for your reasonable use (check the EULA). The entire reason behind this change is that excessive numbers of stacks in hangars is causing unreasonable amounts of load.
Originally by: Bellac Is this personal and corp hangars? Does the corp hangar count as 1, or is eash hangar bay a seperate 1000. - covered by patch notes
Each hangar bay is a seperate storage location, so it will have it's own seperate limit.
Originally by: Bellac What happens to someone who has thousands of items in his hold and runs some manufacture jobs over the patch DT. Will he not be able to take delivery?
I would say he probably can't take delivery until he has enough item limit free to accept the incoming items. However, with the way S&I works now, that doesn't mean he loses it - it'll sit there in the "ready" state until he is able to deliver it. ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |

We are discussing a feature that will be implemented in future. Which of course, isn't active at this moment. So in few days, you cannot add anything to that container until it's item stacks have been reduced under 1000. --- Regional Sell orders |

Might actually work =) Nice thinking there. --- Regional Sell orders |

Will we be able to see what is in the cans remotely? Or am I going to have to guess which can/station my tech 2 hardners are in/on? AFAIK, you cannot see what is in cans now unless you are in the station with them. |
