Fuujin	Posted - 2006.02.27 22:14:00 - [1] Fired up the test server today to play around with the new bloodlines and see what character design I would like. My gripe beign with the fact that the options are a lot more limited compared to the other bloodlines in terms of hairstyles and other facial features. Not only that but changing the face characteristics is almsot hardly noticeable at times. I just wanted to know if the final release will have more options or are we limited to teh few right now? _______________ The sword has to be more than a simple weapon; it has to be an answer to life's questions

I study Japanese and a bit of Chinese so through all that I tend to meet a lot of Asian people and thus can tell Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Fillipino apart pretty easily. But i digress.... I have a very firm grasp of faces normally but when they show vids from China on the telly and they show groups of chinese people the only things that makes the people different, to me, is their clothing. I've read something about that I (a swedish person) have gotten used to "read" people with a western look and therefore differentiate looks of people of non western ethnicities less well. No idea if that's real science or just mumbo jumbo. Many of them still look the same to me. And if some stuck up person will accuse me of racism don't. Just shoot yourself in the belly and enjoy. edit To stay on topic. I to believe that the new bloodlines have too few options. I tried morphing the faces for a good while, on all the new bloods, and it pretty much didn't do any differance at all. I'm not saying the morphing of the old bloods is all that super but it's clearly more noticable (just look at the brutors chin...hot damn, that chin would make superman green with envy!!!). I find it odd that though they have insane charisma, thier willpower is horrible (max of 9 [base 3, add 3, pick the class that adds another 3]). Which is the primary attribute for all of the trade skills. What is up with this. My domi is pretty ugly It's tech II drones do the deed. And that thorax ramming me fits oh so snugly. I surely hope this poem made your ears bleed.

And you should read the question that was originally asked. Read, think, then answer. In response: no, there are no new ships to go with the bloodlines. They use the same ships as the other bloodlines of their empire - Khanid use Amarr ships, Achura use Caldari, etc. By the way, as for the people who say that all characters of one of the new bloodlines look the same. You have a point, but isn't that true for the old bloodlines as well? Don't all Deteis look the same? Don't all Amarr, Intaki etc. look the same? Sure, you can change costumes, hairstyles, accesories etc., but the basic face stays very similar. It's simply the way the EVE portrait creation system works. All things considered, I think the new bloodlines aren't any worse when it comes to variability. You can do a lot via different costumes, hair, lighting etc.

Below is a small sampling of what i did in 10 minutes or so.... And I agree with some people here: Their faces cannot be modified as much as one could with the older bloodlines. Come on CCP: Increase the face modifiability coefficient in your code (if you have any such thing .)

Used to be even higher in previous test runs, but they lowered it due to too many of you twerps complaining about the "uber stats of new bloodlines". Jin-Mei with the right ancestry can now go up to 13 perception, which should make that race popular as well.

On the street, I couldn't tell you who was of what european race either. I'm loving the new models, there just aren't enough options for hair, accessories and the like. Look at accessories on the Jinmei male. I think theres like 4-6 different ones, and they're repeats, just on different sides of the face, almost the same goes for beard, theres a good 4 or 5 options and they look almost identical. Then theres some inconsistencies with a few other things.
