I would like to see the autopilot continue until the ship is docked at the final destination. I really hate having my ship hanging out at the stargate after a 10 jump trip.
Should the game really force me to sit there and watch 25 minutes of jumps ? Sounds like a great way to have players lose interest in the game fast.
Better yet, let autopilot continue working after I log out.

Good point,
however, I would think that normal market forces would make macro trading a short term activity at best. Besides, the challenge of trading is finding the chain of dependent markets, not the transport.
If semi-automated transport was part of the game, then it is not an exploit. The game should focus on being fun, not forcing us to do something stupid over and over.
thanks for the reply - I'm glad someone shows an interest in making the game more interesting. Gets tired after 2 months of endless jumps.

Hello Zrizek,
Trading is a boring job with minimal income, but it's only one of the many many professions available in this game, and it can be done in a Frig. It also has some of the least skill requirements of the game (just the ability to fly a frig, available to every character upon start, but not the resources for big-time trading).
If you don't like trading, try another field. Research gets good money selling BPCs, Mission running gets lousy money at start but works its way up quickly, etc, etc. The point is: do something you like to do, not look for the easy money. That's what makes this game so great.

If someone is using macros, it would be easy to set one up so that it auto-docks. This proposal would make life a bit easier for regular players, but not help macroers much. -------------------- This solution to BM-related server resource usage can reduce lag with the same interface. |

Forget the auto docking. How about making it so afterburners automatically engage when approaching a gate on autopilot.

I suggested this myself a while ago, and ccp doesnt like the idea since it makes life easier for macro users (mining and hauling while afk would be faster).
But it could be implemented so afterburner is only made active when approaching a gate...
