What if drones could be coded to all target the same target when the are in a group.
Currently drones auto attack the first target as a team but once that target is destroyed the all auto target a new target and attack it. This often results drones spread out attacking mutiple targets, witch results interaction from the player to manage them.
If drone groups could result having all drones in that group target the same target and attack it as a true group working as a team it would make drone combat a whole lot better and less interaction needed from the player to control and maintain them.

After the destruction of the first target select a second target. Place your cursor over the grouping of the drones, not any of them but the group label. Right click and select engage.
And now all your drones attack the same target.
Not that your option is not needed (in fact it's quite nice, if it's an option), but I though you'd like to know an easy way arround.

It would be nice to be able to designate a drone leader, or chain of command 1-2-3-4-5.
In this way, all the drones would pursue the same target as the one ahead of them selects when you don't care to do everything manually.
So then, even if they weren't doing the right thing, at least they'd be doing the same thing, which is almost as good.

Thx, but I was already aware of how the worked. Thats why I posted this idea. To have a group work as a team and all select the same target when the auto target there next foe to attack.
Less user interaction with the UI to get things done.
