Running a P4 2.4ghz, 1gb of ram, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, sound completely disabled. I cant last more then 3 mins before a CTD.
Have completely updated my drives at ATI. Even tried the Omega drivers someone recommended.
Tried updating to .net 2.0
Tried updating or rather backdating the resface.stuff file
Tried everything to boost the FPS.
I dont have any lag and my fps is pretty high when it crashes.
It crashes when warping, docked, jumping, sitting in space, opening containers, just about anything. I havent noticed a single consistent thing that is occuring when it CTD's
I petitioned to CCP 3 weeks ago and have not gotten a response. Any help will be appreciated.

I replaced my ATI Radeon 9600 Pro with a Geforce 6600 card and this problem went away completely.
You can identify if it is definitely your video card by going into the ATI drivers and shutting off their 'auto VPU recover' feature. This should change your nice friendly CTD to straight out hard locks. If you now get hard locks instead of CTD - the problem was your video card went bonkers and reset itself, crashing the game in the process.
Now, how to make the existing card not go bonkers? I don't know. But it will at least isolate your problem, and provide one possible (unfortunately expensive) solution.

first cancel vpu recover from ati control panel.disabling agp fast write and use agp 4x can work also if you are using agp 8x.
these are general solutions for 9600 pro related problems.I m using 1 and no problem with it.works perfect

I bought a radeon 9800XT and straigth away eve didn't like it so i went back to my geforce 4 ti =D
I still get ctd but I think everyone that plays eve gets it. I maybe get like 2 a day or sometimes none or sometimes like 5. But I sure last longer than 3 min hehe.
Tbh, I don't think eve likes the radeon cards. most people have problems that use them on eve, some don't go figure. Who cares really.. but the ctd everyone does get. But em, hmm.. just noticed I can't help you out at all 
Oh well, just reasuring you that ctd happen to us all, and they suck alot. So it's probably not just your pc.
