This probably would go better in the noob forum, but here goes:
I see post after post mentioning "fitting skills." Obviously this is referring to things like engineering and electronics that affect PG/CPU. Besides these two skills, what else would be considered a basic fitting skill, common to pretty much any ship fitting?
Thanks!

Most common fitting skills are: Engineering, Electronics, Weapon upgrades and Advanced Weapon Upgrades. There are one or two others that lower the CPU usage of backup arrays and modules like that, but those 4 are the most important.

Thanks, Slink! I think I'm going to take a break from working my way through the learning skills to get those built up a bit, and pick up some other skills I want to update.

Just remember that the Eng/Elec/Mech skills are all Intel/Mem, so if you want, wait until you get Intel and Mem done, THEN deal with the "fitting" skills.
Even BEFORE I started Adv Intel&Mem, the Level V fitting skills didn't take egregiously long to train, they're all Rank 1. It's Gunnery skills that are the PITA.

Shield tankers can train up Shield Upgrades for help in the PG (5% reduction in Shield Mod PG needs) department. Considering that PG is not something a lot of Caldari ships have a lot of, it's really helpful.
Also, Electronics Upgrades helps a little bit, but only in specific instances where you use sensor boosters and such. Not a required skill, but I've found that every bit helps. You should always attempt to use every single bit of CPU and PG. Otherwise, you are wasting your potential.

Energy grid upgrades reduces CPU of mods that require the skill. Not a lot, but every little bit can help.
For instance, just bought myself a Maller today (can't believe I didn't have one before, great ship), and the setup fits with .3 CPU left. Definately wouldn't fit without some of the obscure fitting skills. ---------- My sig is boring. |

I hope this doesn't come off as a flame, but here-goes:
It's true, we don't, *but* with all the power diagnostic systems out there, it kind of makes up for it. My mission-running Raven has 4 PDS's in its lows, for a whopping 20% bonus to PG (not sure if there's a stacking penalty). Combine that with Eng. 5 and I have more problems with CPU than I do PG. ----- Griffin -- 100,000 ISK ECM - Multispectral Jammer Is -- 20,000 ISK Standar Missile Launcher Is -- 10,000 ISK War target sobbing over losing a fight in his T2 fitted Battleship -- priceless |
