Ok this is going to sound odd and I am a brand new player so I don't know everything quite yet. But the other day I was mining and for some reason I was zoomed pretty close in to my ship. Suddenly this gold colored metallic lobster/insect thing blinks into existence on my hull. So I rotated around and zoomed in and out and this space lobster thing kept blinking in and out. It wasn't a hull glitch, or one of my guns. I thought it was some kind of crazy leeching drone that cloaked. After a few minutes it was gone. Of course I didn't take a screenshot because it fascinated me and I actually don't know how due to my newbness. If anyone could shed some light on this that would be great. BTW I asked my corp and they think im crazy. |

There are some screenshots and a thread of what you're talking about on the forums, somewhere, from late last year.
I forget the details of what it was all about (graphic bug?), but you're not crazy.

Yeah, I'm betting on a mining drone. They give me the creeps...which is why I never mine. 
Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 kbs, ty - Cortes

I had that same bug. It is a mining drone stuck in your hull. However, I didn't own any mining drones! Weird bug.

Ok that makes sense. There was a guy near me mining, he had a good operation going with drones. Ill have to look at a mining drone up close but I bet thats what it was. The blinking in and out definately makes it sound like a bug. Thanks for the replies.

i have seen a similar bug a long time ago where if someone had a mining drone out then the graphic could attach to your ships hull. Sounds like a similar bug, do a bug report.
.... or it could be an alien invasion, who knows!

I'm going to goto Red Lobster this weekend and demand they serve me one of these space lobsters.
My domi is pretty ugly

haha yeah sounds like the mining drone bug.
It was funny when you would have a mining drone the size of your ship stuck to you back before(?) exodus.

I was in a covert ops cloaked in a belt once when I got the mining drone stuck on my ship. Scared the bejeebus outta me.

Hopefully you aren't refering to Toxoplasma gondii, or Toxoplasmosis. If so please code in pyrimethamine (Daraprim«) and sulfadiazine to counter this effect. (Doctor L337 speak FTW)
