I'm buying one in a couple of weeks and wanted to get some recommendations.
I'm looking for one about the same size and capacity as an i-pod Nano, I've heard these aren't the best though and alot of people have had problems with them.
Any suggestions?

I'd say buy 1 made by creative, don't even bother with Ipod, those things are over-rated & the softwear can mess up...

I read about a girl who became deaf on one ear after the earplug cord came in contact with a television screen.
I got a ASONO and its pretty ok.

I'd second Creative - a Zen Micro or something. I've had one over a year now (i even travelled around europe with mine) and its still as good as new, very very easy to use and has decent battery life.

I have a Zen Mico, it comes in colours too and it gives a cool pulsing blue light when you are charging it's batteries. It's very easy to put new songs onto and setting up playlists and albums which is useful when you have only a few minutes left before your train leaves
It survived a few accidents of falling out of my hands or from the cupboard too.

DO NOT Buy this mp3 player if your comp sucks, the connect software with it was not designed for crap PC's below 512Mb of RAM and your asking for trouble.
I almost didn't buy this Player cause of the sofware but it wasen't justifyed when i got it home. my rig runs it fine

I've got a creative zen 20gig, don't like it that much tbh. The touchpad thing is a pain in the ass, the random play just repeats the same songs over n over too :/

Edited by: SengH on 01/03/2006 13:17:20 Just get Ipod Nano 4Gb Black... nuff said. Get a good case first though so it doesnt scratch up. The case is essential though and you should update the firmware to fix most of the problems. Ive had a creative, sony, rio and im now on the nano. Its the best out of all the ones ive used.

Another Creative vote here. I have the Zen Vision with 30GB HD and a nice decent sized screen. It means I can play the Eve Never Fades trailor to mates in the pub.

I have a 2gig iPod nano and i freaking love it. I've heard about people having problems with them but i've had it for around 6 months now with no serious issues. The itunes software is pretty dumb but i don't care that much tbh. It works.
It's also super tiny and fits just about anywhere, super handy. _ __

If you want a hard disk MP3 player, there is only one choice: the 20GB Zen Touch. Cheaper than an iPod, 50% more battery life, all the same features.
Now if you want a video player... the video iPod is a great deal. Too bad it doesn't play xVid, DivX, or WMV9. Or any AVI whatsoever. And too bad the converter doesn't support MKV or OGM. But I wouldn't expect that of it anyways. Its good for what it does.

I've had my 20GB iPod for 2.5 years now and its still kicking without a hitch. My Fiancee's nano hasn't had any problems since she got it for Christmas. It's also small and easy enough to use that it actually gets used.

Edited by: Dario Wall on 03/03/2006 08:34:23 I just got a 30Gb video iPod on Monday for my birthday. Works pretty well.
And not trying to go off topic or anything, but have any of you iPod users been able to get the EVE music to work in iTunes? I can't seem to get it to work in it...

EVE music is OGG, and iTunes sucks and thus doesn't play OGG.
Use a better media player (there really is none that also has a good playlist feature) or convert the music.

Does these hard disk's Zen micro, iPod lame thing ( ), can also store data like a flash memory mp3 player? Both in the same time? Ex: Having lets say 400 mp3's and programs like archives, save files, executabiles, even hole programs in folder that fit, for transfer purpose of course (not using the program on the player of course :P ) _________________________________

I have a Zen Touch 20GB which works great. I espically love the 24hr battery and the dedicated buttons. Plus the fact that I DON'T have to use iTunes is a nice feature, although I do have alot of friends who use iPods and iTunes without a problem.
