Well devs, I have to say first off the graphics are awsome, gameplay is good, and concept of the game and story is well done. But, the downside to this game is it's lack of things to do. It relies too much on corp activity and limits what you can do until you skill enough to actually get out there and fight on your own. Of all the mmog's i've played this has to be one of the most labour intensive and requires a huge investment of time. Not that it is bad, but when all you do is haul things around, trade, or hunt npc's it does become a little mundane after awhile. What i suggest is considering alternatives to flying around all the time. I've read the posts in the past on this from people who have suggested it, but it would renew my interest and committment if we were able to go onto some planets (not all, i know there are billions of them out there) and stage faction/clan wars with vehicles, get involved in exploration/recon missions with vehicles or on foot, etc. It's a shame to let a game with such potential to get passed by, by so many gamers out there. Yes the 5-6k that stay is enough, but it doesn't come close to the capacity or expected amount of people this game was going to draw in. Just some thoughts.....
To all of those that think this is worthy of a flame, keep in mind it's exactly what feedback is. Flaming means nothing in a virtual world.

Please CCP, do NOT implementation planet-side operations. This is NOT an FPS, it's a tactical/strategical space RPG. Besides, there is plenty to fix/adjust/tune/add in the core elements of EVE without having to add a whole new "game within the game". --- Implement forum search already!!! |

Planetside operations do not need to be FPS style, if i was going that route i would have simply played "Planetside". The game does have it's problems but seriously, do you not find that often times coming online is like going to work? This game has it's fun factors but is very limited in it's capacity unless you wish to play a game where you simply mine and hunt mainly.

I agree with rokhan on one level. The role playing aspect of the game is in desperate need of more depth. However the answer to this question is not little men running around on the planets of Space Stations. Rather than that the planets should be given more economic or strategic signifigance in the game.
I can't help but think that the people at CCP know that the lack of role play depth is a major problem. I love this game so far but if the roleplaying aspect of the game isin't fleshed out a bit I can see boredom setting in after a few months.

Well, i'm glad at least someone agrees with my point of view. Sure roleplay is just as much on the individual, but most of it lies on how the game is designed. Does it really support this to it's full potential?
I guess the best way to lay it all on the line is to look at the number of subscribers. If this server is capable of holding 100k players, then why are there under 10k? Beta turned a lot of people off this game unfortunately. I'm not trying to slam the game but it's too bad how things turned out. Eve had so much more potential.

i agree there needs to be more things to do and the roleplay IS in the hands of ccp becuase there isnt the basic arcitecture for players to roleplay no system is special they all follow the same rules , i believe that a mission system is needed in eve that is not the agent 1 and incorporated into the news the missions could be anything from low level escort missions for industrial convoys to the raiding of an abandoned jovian station with a few frigates still around to make things interesting these missions could be spawned day to day and players would join up to participate in better more difficult missions alot of discussion would be required to iron out a fair un exploitable mission syste but i believe its only the work of a few days and some determination :)
