There is a Char Based out of Renyn Named Datselvu in Techel Corp THIS IS NOT TECHELL CORP. They are trying to ruin our good name and are not to be trusted. Beware. Make sure of the spelling of Techell Corp and Datsevlu.

There are some people in this game that will try anything. I mean can these people not make an honest living or what. Making corps and characters to scam people how very sad.

I agree.. But If a Corp has Enemies, Resorting to Sleeper spies, Espionage, Sabatoge,Supply Line Interuption Etc Etc Etc are actually Excellant tactics.

File a petition. They'll change the name of the character or delete it, as it's being used for fraudulent activities. Same thing for the corp possibly.

i doubt they will delete the char or make it rename. Its someone else's character. You cant just arbitrarily do that.
About 6 weeks ago, i noticed that there are several characters very very similar to Askari, some will be legit, but others will be to try and catch out courier missions and trading. Its all through the game at every level, it they change one, then they should all go, and thats not a realistic solution.
I agree, its out of order and annoying though.

Incorrect, there was a guy with the name DREAMW0RKS who got himself a nice ban for using my name and causing grief and harassment to other players. These cases were similar to Techell their case and i hope that these persons will be banned forever.
This is no warfare you can fight ingame, and is an abuse of current game mechanism's. In many other games this kind of behaviour is removed from these games, and i wouldnt play eve 1 single day longer if someone was able to use my name to cause grief and harassment. Offcourse someone can play the game on a normal way if he choses to use the same name (with a zero instead of an O) however causing grief is extreme lame.

Very low. This isn't a "tactic", it wouldn't even be possible with 1 char/account (who would delete his main char to just cause grief to a single individual/corp?).

I know the feeling, some moron named "Feme Fatal" is spamming newb corps using the "send to all corpmember" thing to recruit for some corp, and I have tons of noobs ****ed off at me in local whereever i go

Time to make a corp for our alts for the sole purpose of podding, ad infinitum, any idi0t who uses these variant-spelling BS games to cause grief. We should call it "Dictionary"

Doped Players Inc is a fake corporation mimicking the Info text, name, ticker and logo of Doped Player's Inc.
GMs said that it was quite all right by game mechanics...

Yes we just became aware of this issue ourselves....
Zenos (or Xenos or Crudger(sinister inc)) has "copied" our corp and thus made a corp very similar.
Not that the REAL Doped Player's Inc. has a _'_ in the name. the FAKE DOESN'T.
the ticker for the REAL DP = D P
the ticker for the FAKE DP = DP.
the founder of the REAL DP = DP Mephisto
the founder of the FAKE DP = Zenos
plz take note of this.

distinguishing the ones who uses names similar to other corps for nefarious purposes to those incidents where names were accidentally similar is what needs be addressed too.
Then Techell and Doped Player's Inc can get retribution... altho forums are here to be used in the capacity shown already.

I guess Zenos got note of the topics that were posted. He has apparently removed the previous copy of Doped Player's Inc. and has now made a copy named: Duped Player's Inc. once again copying our logo. plz take note.

CCP should just change the petition to an automated response. From my dealings and other peoples dealing with gm's I think it should read something like this:
"Dear player, I am sorry for your:
loss due to lag/game bug etc..
problems with another player with a name close to yours
non working features of game
stuck character
inability to log on
these are all features that work with the current structure of the game mechanics. We will not be doing anything to help you because it would be unfair to the other players that we have not helped in the past. If we help you now we would be setting a bad example for the customer support area of CCP. We here at CCP know that if we ignore you long enough you will give up and keep playing. If you do decide to quit, well we didn't want you to play anyway, so there....."

This is a quote from the "Rules of conduct" found in the support section.
"What are the general rules of conduct?
You may not harass other players. This includes, but is not limited to, hateful, racist, sexually explicit, threatening and harmful comments. Partial masking and alternative typing for such comments will be punishable by the same standards as the comments themselves. "
So if someone is copying your corpname and using it to slander and/or putting a bad mark on it¦s good name please file a harassment petition and each case will be carefully evalutated and acted on accordingly.

wasnt someone forced to change their name because they tagged it with GM at the beggining, the reason I bring this up here is that in RL I know of people who use their 2nd or 3rd name as the one they prefer to be called by but have to sign things with initialls for the other names, so in that case I can create a char called G.M. John Smith, due to the fact that he doesnt like the other names he was given ( gerald and matthew ) or would this be considered trying to 'Impersonate' a GM?
