Well I think that tonight I have officially won at Eve. Here is my tale of pure pwnage Justice.
About 30 days ago flying my impel into a 0.4 sector to shuffle some cargo cans for my danged lvl 4 agent I get ganked. No warning, no ransom, just ganked. Lost ship and cargo expanders worth about 250M isk. But the worst part is I failed the agent mission!
Fast forward to tonight. Because tomorrow is a new patch I decided to try to excersise my RMR "kill rights" on one of the perpetrators. The same lvl 4 agent who sent me to my death decided to drop a dime for me and told me where I should look.
I fitted my Dominix out for pure BS vs BS pvp expecting my foe would be similarly fitted as when he ganked me in his geddon. Upon arriving in the system my lvl 4 agent sent me too I saw that he was still in local. I found the station he was at and then undocked and waited.
2.5 hours go by.....OMG I am thinking he must be afk for the night and I have wasted all my agent running time. Just as I am about to call it a night
HE UNDOCKS IN AN ITY MKV!!!!

Did he know it was the guy he ganked the night before?
Did he smacktalk or cry? If so, please describe.

I made the noob mistake of trying to pod kill him as well and having the sentry guns open up on me while he docked his pod. Then I flew off for my timer to expire at a safe spot I had made. I actually didn't realize how amazing the kill was until I was about 5 min at the safespot and went to read the kill mail. When I flew back to check the can it was full of minerals and I grabbe some zydrine and nocxium (didn't have much cargo room).
Convo in local went like this: Him: Why did you pirate me are you turning pirate? Me: Because I had kill rights on you - this was Pure Justice! Me: Remember when you ganked my impel last month? Him: Wow you came out here just to kill me??? lol that was a good job by you. Me: Yep Him: I guess we are even now. Me: Yep - I don't have kill rights anymore.
He really didn't cry and I really didn't rub it in. So I do give props to him for no smack talk after the event.

Fantastic Dreck - it must have felt brilliant doing that as the realisation hit you of just how much that your kill cost the guy who had cost you so dearly.
It must be one of the best feelings you could get in Eve that. Never had it myself as I have not required such revenge yet but I could fair imagine.
And waiting over 2hrs to get im - Jamius bows to your patience - I guess good things do come to those who wait

First off Dreck, great kill, but the best part of it was this conversation. Him saying great kill, and you not taunting. This is the reason that I play EVE.
Great job both of you.

Originally by: Grimwalius d'Antan Too bad his loss didn't seem to equal your own, if those 250 mil were an accurate estimate.
Yeah my previous loss of an impel with 6 local hull cargo expanders was silly cause I shouldn't have taken the cargo expanders into 0.4 space.
In my mind I would have been victorious if he had undocked in an empty shuttle and I had killed it - I was expecting a Geddon vs. Dominix battle and had fit 2 anti-amarr jammers and 3 warp disruptors in my mid-slots. I even anticipated that I could lose my BS in pvp combat that night since my last meeting he had a friend with him.
You can only imagine the elation that I felt when I just killed the ship (never mind that it went up by like 5x when I read the evemail) - so much of my 2 years in Eve is about painfully learning what is bad to do, and then avoiding doing that again. Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected to get so lucky on the moment that I picked to revenge my loss. As a good friend of mine often says: "Even blind squirrels sometimes find a nut" - I have no idea how to translate that into eve speak but it probably means i got so fricken lucky I should go buy lottery tickets.
Btw the new blood patch cleaned off my kill rights list. So, his friend is gonna get off. . That bums me out because I can say that I am now encouraged to hunt down anyone on my kill rights list. But I am sure in a few days my agent will send me on 7-eleven run to some random 0.4 space and there will be others waiting to get right up on that list.

Yep some level 4 agents can locate players anywhere in eve (location service is an option when you go to talk with them)...takes about 5 min to get a location so usually by the time you get there they may have moved on. But guys who sit in bases for 3 hours+ can be found pretty easy. |

Theres lvl 3 agents who do it, and also level 2 (I think). Maybe even lvl 1. They just they longer to do it as their level decreases. Also higher levels ask for more isk, although the amount is pretty ridiculous. ;) Thankfully.
Edit: Forgot to touch the topic...heh, great job. Looked at this topic earlier but forgot to post. Looks like both of you had some fun. No smack is always rare, and always great.

I beg to differ, a proper revenge should hurt more than the initial crime. You smash a window of mine, I smash three of yours the day after. That sort of logic. Drecks enemy can seek solitude in "oh well, at least I hurt him more to begin with.". Dreck's victory is, in my eyes, nullified or even overshadowed by the initial loss.
That being said however, his nemesis still got owned, undocking a hauler right into the arms of a kill listee carrying (assumably) a major part of his assets from that station.
Griefing is to ruin a friendly game, which Eve is not. |
