At what combination of level, system security of security missions might I find that the suggested ship type for that mission will not be able to hold all the salvage in its cargo hold?
Along these lines, I'm currently using salvage drones, what is the result/indication, that my cargo bay becomes full on a drones return? |

salvage is tiny, loot is not. You can assume you will never get full on salvage. Regarding loot, the number of NPCs varies heavily mission-to-mission.

^ Agreed. Salvage I find not to be worth all that much. I do high-sec Amarr lvl4s and salvage with a noctis after. I'm not aiming for max isk/hr.
I find its the loot that gets you the big iskies. Battleship weapons are 1mil plus each, bombs, meta 4 stuff. I've got quite a few meta 4 Damage Controls drop worth 7mil each. |

Used to be on some l4 missions I would run out of cargo space for loot, that was the point when I bought Noctis. However, since that time loot have changed, I think really bulky loot has been taken out. These days you can use destroyer with expanded cargo holds if you want cheap looting ship.
Or you can use cruiser with cargo hold expanders and salvage drones.
Or just get Noctis.
