The ore respawn-baby roid bug has been around long enough. The "that dude is on vacation" excuse is wore out. Please address this issue, or do a full respawn. Mega prices are insane for a reason. And yes I know some of you reading will be ever so anxious to tell me how you mined 25k bist last night.. I don't care, their is still a problem with roids getting stuck at 4units..12units etc.
Loot drops. According to TomB when I attended the CSM 3 weeks ago, the loot tables were going to be fixed, and he just hadn't gotten to it. Has their been oppurtunity to fix this as of yet?
If these issues are addressed in current patch work, plz include in patch log. If not, can someone plz address the issue.
Thank you. Evolution..... Just when you thought you were winning.

I see the market price on Megacyte is now between 15,000 and 20,000 ISK - 4 to 5 times NPC prices.
This is a direct result of the asteroids not respawning correctly (and CCP's mystical decision to move all good asteroids out of .1 to .4 space).

if you watch roids carefully like i have, they grow slowly. Which is why when you see a roid with 3-15 in it. The roid has recenlty spawned and is still growing daily. Kinda like crop growth. Now all you need to do is protect your crops from others mining it. And rotate your harvest. This may be hard to believe but i have many screen shots of roid growth to prove it. And even the amazing screen shot of a scordite roid that got a little too big.

I on the otherhand have watched a crok roid stay at 9units for the last two weeks. Perhaps it is related to particular systems, or even regions where roid growth is borked, but there is little to no consistancy.
As for flames, everyone and their brother can flame me if they want, as long as it gets fixed I don't care.. :) Evolution..... Just when you thought you were winning.

Great so it grows from 3-15 per day. That means it takes from 53 days to 8.8 months to reach a sive of 800. Good luck guarding that roid for 8 months so it is big eneough to be worth mining.

Roids do not grow daily that is a crock of bs. There are not systems that are filled with baby roids of all sorts (Veld, Scord ...) This problem needs to be fixed ASAP. There is no point in nerfing afterburner stacking, which is not needed, when time can be spent fixing some already existing problems.

roids seem to accumulate faster as they get bigger (they most definetely grow in systems that get mined a decent bit) someone put forward a theory that systems (or even just belts) have a sort of cap of how much ore they can have, and when they hit it growth stops (but not new roids to replace those mined out) meaning if you want bist roids to grow you have to mine out a bit of scord/veld/plag or whatever is taking up all the systems allotment of ore .. . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

Edited by: ProphetGuru on 05/09/2003 20:06:38 Appreciate the responses and theories, however, it's a load of crap. I shouldn't have to mine veld for a week to be able to mine bist, and i shouldn't have to wait 8mos for a roid to grow. It's obvious there is a problem, and it affects a huge majority of the people playing eve.
Loot tables being borked affects another huge majority. Noone touched on this much, but, a- rares are too rare. b- frigs drop better loot then 50k cruisers. Also, I should put this in my initial post.. I know someone will read this and get all excited about comeing on and telling me how they loted uber amounts of prototypes/coils/scouts etc etc. Well good for you, the majority of players are not getting these drops.. I haven't seen a gauss drop myself in over 230million in bounties from npc hunting. Old loot tables... rares were to common, new tables, to rare.. find a balance. Evolution..... Just when you thought you were winning.

I know roids grow in system i used to mine....if theres only a few mining they all grow a little bit at a time and theres usually lots to go round..but when theres lots mining(GOF came in and strip mined the lot) so there was only roids with only 14 in em.....week later and the same roids had 40 to 50 in em...so i guess in 2 to 3 weeks time they will be back to reasonable amounts and another big corp will probably come in a strip mine the lot. ..So i agree with the statement that roids do regrow(not saying this is everywhere)
Id like to see someone officially say how the roids are meant to work , if theyre busted if theyre meant to respawn the way they do? ===============================================
Damn roid respawns,CTDS,Stuck systems,lost items,stuck in warp,friends list,broken map(insert more here after patch)... |

At the moment the side effect of this is that it is slowing people down from advancement a lot, and CCP must be delighted at that as it gives them a buffer. So I dont see it being fixed until they have content ready, and tech 2 ready to go.
Personally I suspect this may have been deliberate on their part. The deliberate silence on the matter from CCP speaks volumes.

^bump^
It needs to be fixed, i've seen alot of things since beta stating it will be fixed soon or some excuse why it is not fixed yet. Then we get an update that enhances the look of the gui, or so is supposed to, but does not make us forget about the things we want fixed. Then things being changed or "nerfed" as some call it, which should have been correctly set to the values they are supposed to have prior to release. Tech 5 stuff being worse than tech 1 or 2, that is just bad preperation of the making of this game. Almost as if they were not exactly sure where they were going with this game in the beginning and just starting thinking things up and throwing them ingame without looking back on items already implemented. I dunno I may be wrong, but even so it just looks as if alot is just being ignored or perhaps not even looked at. I know CCP is working hard, and some bugs ect.. can be very hard to find and fix fast, but with more and more people playing now and more joining EVE everyday and they don't really know alot about what is going on atm, so they turn right back around and head for another game. I do hope these probs get resolved soon as it is getting old already.

Why is this a bad thing?
Having a shortage that forces up the Megacyte prices is a great feature of a volatile economy. I like it.

Edited by: Knaar on 10/09/2003 05:28:51 1. Asteroids do grow... I noticed a bistot roid grow by a couple units overnight...
2. Asteroids ARE BUGGED -- if they actually grow (obviously some don't) it's far too slowly. CCP has told us that this is a bug and not meant to happen. They have also said that they are working on fixing it.
3. They are manually fixing roids in order to have the market not fail completely. That said, when they manually patch tranquility some of the said babyroids are boosted to a more appropriate amount of ore. When they do this seems to be once a week, or every other week or something like that. I would like to know when, but I doubt they'd tell us that.
4. Obviously some baby-roids never get fixed, as there's a heck of a lot of them out there.
5. I do agree that it is SEVERELY effecting gameplay. Megacyte prices are insane, but at least there's still some bistot to be found so the market doesn't collapse entirely. I'd like to see every baby-roid fixed more often, but at least I can still find bistot if I look hard enough.

There is no shortage. There is an overabundance of lazy people who won't mine the available bistot.

You cant obviously mine bistot alot then? I have been to so many systems and went through each asteriod belt only to find baby bistot rocks. The good rocks that I have found which are very rare lately just have not come back the same ie. A rock respawned a few hours after I had just mined it. That rock has had the same value of 3 for 2 weeks now so don't tell me thats not bugged.

Mine elsewhere.
Me and 5 friends mined over 100k of bis from 1 system last night.
And NO, we not telling where it, and its equally full neighbor systems, are. It ain't over till the fat lady falls on ya!
