I renewed my subscription to Eve and opened a new account.
I was always going to give Eve at least 6 months regardless of how it performed but the player-driven content of the last 10 days has proven that, if CCP are being slow to provide ingame content while they're fixing the myriad bugs, Eve is STILL a very exciting and interesting game to play.
Now I just have to figure out what my new account will be used for.
Pirate, scientist, fighter, miner, trader, refinery, research, politics, grubber, ore thief, griefer or insane capitalist nutbag.
Ah, the choices.

I'm also thinking of buying another account. It will only cost me about 1 pizza per month, and tbh, a pizza is only fun for 20 minutes (30, if I drop slices out the window onto passers by) while Eve is fun for hours.
As to what he'll do... we'll have to see.
As to what he'll be called... well, you'll never know.. .

I would even consider a new account too - considering I created 'Hardin' before I read the instructions or had even played and therefore feel a bit crippled with 18 charisma
Out of interest can you play two accounts on the same computer simultaneously? (without having a seperate PC and monitor).
Or do you have to swap back and forth?

Yes you can, I usually have 2 windowed (2x full screen seems to not be working fine...)

Apparently you can run two instances of Eve from the same installation directory but I think I'll install to a different directory to be safe.
I might make my 2nd account into a very good miner/refiner/scientist. This would make it a lot easier for me to use 2 accounts at the same time. I can't imagine using 2 instances of Eve in a battle would be productive

i would suggest copying the eve folder, the same way as u would do for chaos, else everything goes crap, and i might go buy myself another account, could use a hauler/trader/miner/builder etc kinda guy, one that that is a bit combat shy for once :) _______

I think I will make my second character a specilaised fighter so I can go and hunt Macumba
(as he spends his time hunting me atm!)
Disco - You say you use the same installation? Does this mean you only installed it once (from one CD) and then set up two accounts?
Or do I have to pay again for the retail version and another disk to set up a second account?
Be interesting to know as I could pop down to Game in my lunch 'break'...

You will have to pay again for the retail version BUT just copy your current folder and run from there. You need the 2nd retail version just to create the login for your account using the CD-key, not for installation.

I'm thinking of putting the one of the chars on my new account (if I get one) into some sort of cool elite-frigate type corp. I think these new frigates will be the scourge of the galaxy.
I like being a scourge.

Edited by: John Zeppe on 05/09/2003 13:07:09 I'd create an minmatar alt to kill those damn Amarr people (note - newbies not counted). I'd fund it with stuff from my now-primary account so I could get a Tempest in a month or two (of skilltraining, the money is easier).
Edit: Yes, this is an amarr char...

I just bought my second account too. newb-ville, here I come. I'll try not to ask too many daft questions in the school channel.
Although my dude has already recieved more help in 3 minutes, than I got in 3 hours when I started. So there are benefits to starting late. .

The one thing I love most about using multiple accounts is that it makes thing much more interesting. Not only in building up multiple characters but it also gives you more to think about. Those monotonous tasks don't seem so boring when you have multiple characters to worry about.
