I'm still stuck on what I should do. I was wondering as a total noob to EVE (month played so far) why did CCP create this race? I mean is it made to start skills faster than the others? I'm just curious. I have no idea if I should re-roll or not. I think my stats on my caldari guy with all learning skills at lvl 3 is:
9 int
15 percept
15 will
the others I cannot remember, pretty well rounded I think, when I made the character that is. I'm not trying to catch up to a vet who has been with the game since the beginning I just want the fastest way to get the skills I need so I can play with some friends and join a corp. (most ask for 2mill sp I'm only at 700k atm). So I'm hoping maybe that this new race can get me to 2m SP faster than my old one?
Last thing can a veteran of the game recommend a good Achura Caldari stats and type (like monk or whatever) if you think I should change.

stick with it, no matter what character you have, you will have the same number of total attribute points, the new charcters can be specialized, but will still be slower in other areas.

It really depends on what you want to do.
If you have no interest in Charisma based skills (the few that there are, damn you CCP), then Achura are great. 3 base charisma, which gives your other 27 points a better distribution.
TBH, not sure why they made this new, wildly popular combat class Caldari. They should have made it Amarr so as to keep noob idlers away from Jita.

Because Caldari are typical examples of beauty and greatness. Just saying, Caldari are just pretty and Godlike.

Pure Amarr start with 3 in Charisma as it is, we have always been good at combat. The Khanid will only further fortify this trend.

Pure Amarr start with quite a low perception tho.
Oh and has anyone else noticed the new khanid lines can start with gunnery 5 and small energy turret 4. 303k sp's to begin with 
EDIT - to keep on topic, whats you mem? thats the most important attribute for the basic learning skills.

Yea I'll probably stick with this character than. I was able (before the servers died) to ge t acomplete list of my caldari fighter:
int - 9
percept - 15
cha - 6
will - 15
memory - 8
**This is AFTER LVL 3 learning skills*** I was worried that I may have gimped myself with these stats or that the new Achura race cold learn skills far faster than I. I'm in for the long haul for this game its so much fun

Yeah they dont look too bad, mem and intel are a bit low i spose, but then my combat char has over 66% of sp's in perc/wil skills... those values more than make up for low intel/mem. You did say you wanted to shoot stuff right? assuming yes i'd stick with what you've got.
