As the title suggests, I have created a new rookie help channel named RealRookieHelp. This was motivated by the excessive spam and complaining in the "Rookie Help" channel that trial accounts and new subscribers get dropped into. The spam makes it nearly impossible to answer questions because of the window's scrolling rate. The new channel is completely player run and members who demonstrate a particularly fine sense of good will and intelligence will be given operator status to help cull any spam which might arise. Note: The channel is open to everybody except those who get blocked for spamming. That means veterans who just want to help out some rookies or even ask some questions are free to join.

What we really need is a way to create a public channel rolodex.
Pay a fee like 50M isk, and it gets added. If we had some kind of timer on op commands, we could simply have any channel that isn't op utilized within 48hrs automatically remove itself from the yellowpages.
I've said it before, (no one read it) and I'll say it again: Missions and agent offers should have channels hotlinked within the helptext. Like a narcotics channel. Or a human chattel commerce channel. Or other contraband.
Anything to cut down on the noise to signal ratio is good. Specialized recruitment channels for instance. Plus a generalist recruitment one for those who just can't seem to focus on one thing.
Yeah, there'll be weirdoes on it, reveling in their weirdness. But it's GalNet. What do you expect?

Thank you Kenzo Storm. You've been a great deal of help. With everything going to pieces the day after I buy the game, I had a terrible first impression of EVE Online. It's nice to hear some reassurance and some help with Rookie questions.

I'm glad you're all finding the channel helpful. I think we hit a peak of 26 members a couple days ago, and it's been a pleasure helping all of you. :) Mister Fantastic is my alt by the way, posted with him on accident.
