So, I was shooting at one of my corpmates when all of a sudden, Ninael (another corp member) gets FLAGGED for shooting a velator (neutral) in Empire. Okay, that's understandable. Then, I approach Ninael and activate my medium remote armor repairer and start to get BLOWN AWAY by sentry guns. WHY?!
Also, my Global Criminal Flag is set to Imperial Armamanets (the station we were outside of) and a corporation we are at war with.
WTF _________

Because a long time ago an entire corporation went on a killing spree in Yulai because CONCORD didn't flag people who were simply repairing the combatants as aggressive.

what
If a character is flagged as a criminal, and you use support modules on that character, the system recognises you as an accomplice to the criminal.

Do you want me to use sign language?
You healed someone who was currently killing somebody else. If you were allowed to do that without getting vaporized, the person in question could theoretically continue killing people unstopped because you'd simply keep repairing any damage they took from CONCORD.

Except that it's working fine. Someone in the original poster's corp attacked a neutral velator and was flagged as a criminal. The original poster began healing them and was flagged by association. Sentries opened fire on both of them. That's how it's meant to work. EDIT: You're under the mistaken impression that you were flagged because repairing was seen as an aggressive action somehow. That's not the case. You aided a criminal and were flagged as a criminal for doing so.

We've said this about five times already. Yes, you can and should. Don't heal someone who is criminally flagged next time.

When did this get implemented? I used to be able to activate repair drones on people that were criminally flagged. _________

You are not getting flagged for shooting your corpmate, but for repairing a flagged criminal. Afaik this isnt a bug, it is by design, as others have said. |

Well it was implemented long before repair drones...

in that case it doesn't apply to drones, only to ship-to-ship modules?
interesting. Since this was implemented BEFORE repair drones maybe CCP forgot to apply it to the drones after they were introduced...
seems ridiculously obvious to me, if drones don't get you flagged (i've never used em :P) ---

Which, if it's true, would be a bug and anyone abusing it can say goodbye to their account.

Don't think what? If you abuse an obvious exploit, you can be banned just like the zombies did back before they added the criminal flagging hitting remote repair ships.

Uhm, repairing is a neutral action, correct. It will not cause aggression towards concord and sentries. Repairing and helping somebody who is at war will give you a pvp free flag for the other person, making you a viable target as well. Repairing and helping somebody who committed a crime will also flag you as a criminal. It really has nothing to do with being in the same corp.
All that does allow you is to aggress your own corp members freely, without triggering criminal flag and CONCORD response. So.. in the immortal words of some really annoying WoW people: l2p

Almost exactly 2 years ago. Look up Zombie and Yulai Incident for more info.

and since repper drones are mentioned.. Be Careful! a repper drone (only tried it with armor repper, dont know how the others work) activating on a target is an Aggressive Act. seems like sloppy coding makes the system see activating the drone count as an attack, just like if it was an attack drone. helping Can and Will get you killed.
