The forums generally are a bad place to try and sort anything out and this kind of thread is always going to result in a huge flamefest with tit for tat postings and people getting massively carried away, which is fun for those outside of the conflict but which dont do either of the involved parties any favours in the long run.
I never heard anything bad about the TOG and would be surprised if they were involved in these kinds of shenanigans (what a great word, and one you dont get to use enough in ordinary conversations).

Threatening a petition in local to your war target is offensive even if it is phrased magnanimously (and in this case, it came off as a bit more like an ultimatum unfortunately).
