Hey there folks,
I was just wondering if there were any guides or road maps I could follow as far as mission arcs for right after you have finished the newby tutorial missions. I was thinking to starting the Sisters of Eve epic story Arc but as I am quite new not sure if I am ready for it yet. Any suggestions would be helpful |

1) Finish the tutorials by Aura. These introduce basic concepts and controls. At the end you should be pointed to the
2) Career agent missions. These are sets of 10 missions covering various areas of the game, such as mining, exploration, combat, etc. I strongly recommend doing them all, even if you're not particularly interested in that area - they reward you with free ships that you can sell for a good amount of starter money. These can be finished in a frigate.
3) The Sisters of EVE epic arc. This is a series of ~50 missions getting progressively more and more difficult, and rewarding you with a lot of money. You'll probably start the arc in a frigate, but you will want to upgrade to a destroyer pretty soon. The last few missions will be pretty tough - try teaming up with other players to complete them. Oh, and the arc has a pretty interesting storyline too, so if you're into that don't skip over the mission descriptions.
4) After that, the "tutorial" is done, and the world of EVE opens! You're free to do whatever you want, there are no more railroads! I advise running missions until you feel you've learned the game UI interface fairly well. From then onward, only return to missions when you have a specific goal that requires running them (for example, you might run missions if you wanted to improve your security status, or if you wanted to acquire an obscure LP store item that is difficult to find on the market).

Unless you've found a corp, I would not recommend skipping the tutorials, because unless you've got some folks explaining all the things, well, would bet youd be back to the tutorials pretty quick. One great thing is that the tutorials and soe arc gift you the skill books you might otherwise purchase in your first week... Saves you some isk. If you're bored to tears, well, yeah do something else but eve has a very steep learning curve and the tutorials give you a bit of direction and a sense of accomplishment that you may find not as easy to get elsewhere... Big cold ass universe round here :) |

Here's a follow-up noob question: irrespective of difficulty, what are (if any) the other story arcs? Is SOE the only one, or is it the only noob arc? |

There are agents for security, distribution , mining etc- each have level 1 missions. Those are for noobs.
To get to higher levels you have to grind high enough agent standings- if that's a goal would recommend training diplomacy and think it's security connections? Someone help me out lol. Will lower impact from attacking a specific faction ie Amarr with Min agent , and increase the speed with which you can get to level 2 3 etc agents. Each agent level will have better LP payouts and isk payouts. |

The SOE arc is the only level 1 mission arc. There's some pirate faction arcs that are technically level 3, but doable in an interceptor, that take place in nullsec...and there are some level 4 arcs as well.
There are also the 'normal' missions of each level...1,2,3,4. They're a standard and easy way to earn ISK via combat, though they're fairly boring and predictable so I don't bother with them.
The SOE arc is the only set of missions that I recommend for new players, simply because it acts sort of as an extended tutorial and gives you a bunch of stuff for running it. |

SoE is the only level 1 difficulty arc.
Each of the four major empires and two pirate factions have a story arc. All of these are level 4 difficulty.
Then there are COSMOS missions which are shorter mini-arcs of varying difficulty. Be careful when talking to COSMOS agents, as their missions are one-time only. If you accept a mission and are unable to finish it in time, you will not be able to request that mission with the same character ever again. |

As others have stated complete the Tutorial and all 5 Career Agents, then run the level 1 SoE Epic Arc.
After that if you're still looking to do some sort of Epic Arc mission series, Cosmos Agents could be one route. They do indeed offer multi-part mission series but their level is tougher than regular missions, IE, a level 1 Cosmos Agent is like a level 2 regular Agent. As someone else stated, they also require a higher amount of Faction standing to access.
Most of the Event Agents are one time use. Before jumping into Cosmos Agents, I suggest doing the 'Cert' missions offered by Data Center Agents. Those are easier Event Agent mini arcs for a newer player to complete.

so, looking back to 3 years ago, i have to thank you for this post, because I apparently only started SOE arc, did a couple missions, got distracted by a buddy wanting to run some pvp in lowsec for a weekend, and never came back
