I finally have a sig I like.. and it's not very far beyond the pixel range.. pretty sure I can fix it if it becomes a problem.. but the bytes are just sickingly high. How do I cut them down some? it's at nearly 160,000 bytes as is. If there's some other area I should ask this question, please direct me.

You could try to save the file as a .JPG or .GIF and reduce the quality of it (increase compression etc...) but to do so you'll need a graphics editing program.

Have you tried saving it as a .GIF? You should be able to reduce the filesize significantly with that.
You can get a free image editing program at www.download.com. Specifically, I can recommend IrfanView - here's a link to it directly at download.com.
Hope this helps!

Glad it worked out for you!
I see you're trying to link to the file on your desktop. This doesn't work on the forums here - you'll have to upload the image somewhere. I could recommend imageshack.us for it.

I'm trying my sig also ... what do you think? A good friend of mine made it for me... although I'm learning how to do them.

Thank you very much. I dont generally work with forum signatures, but felt that I should for EVE. I think it's right now. As for you D'kar.. well your Sig is loads better than mine. I like it. Better than my simple inverted screen cap.
Please resize your signature graphic to be smaller than 400 pixels in width and less than 120 pixels in height. Email us at [email protected] if you have any questions - Jacques |

Nice sig D'Kar, but you're going to need to resize it. Maximum width for sigs is 400 pixels, and maximum height is 120 pixels. In addition, the filesize of your signature graphic needs to be below 24,000 bytes.
Rex - the same goes for you - your signature file size is within the limits, but you'll need to reduce the width of your image down to 400 pixels, and the height down to 120 pixels.

Edited by: Rex on 04/03/2006 22:24:17 Alright. Pretty sure I've got it the right size.. it was only a few pixel sizes. boy paint is a pain in the butt when I wanna modify a pic like that. If there's anything else wrong (like say I got the size wrong somehow) I'll be glad to fix it. Thanks for all of your help. ------------------------------------------------------- |

Here are some links to a couple of usefull tools. Both are freeware and dont have and spyware attached.
The first is an editing program while its not as powerful as photoshop or something like that its better than Paint and well, it's free.
The second adds an image resizeing option to your standard rightclick menu. It also converts to several diferent file types.
