Hello!
I've been an on-off player for a few years now and re-subbed a month ago. I've always had the issue of flitting between different ideas of what I want to do in EVE. For now I've settled into L4 missioning.
Right now I have an Apoc which I've been doing missions in. I've had no troubles with it and have completed everything thrown at me, but it feels very very slow. I'm looking for recommendations for a quicker way of doing things. I have about 10mil SP, so nothing massive, and not enough money to get a navy/pirate ship yet. I can T2 everything but the weapons on a ship and would happily train to fly any race/style of ship just to give it a try.
I have the standings to run Cal Navy and Amarr Min. of Internal Order and nearly SoE L4 missions and really have no preference as to where or for whom I run things. Just looking to mission a bit more effectively. I know that gradually by skilling up things will improve also.
I've been out of the game for a while and figure I might be missing something. I've done plenty of research, but just wanted to check with real people! Basically I want to know whether there is any one ship which is considered quickest/best, whether I'm best using missiles or guns or even drones for missions etc.
Thank you! |

while they may be quite far off for you SP wise, marauders with bastion have become excellent mission ships since rubicon. the paladin can run most lvl4s in amarr space with a 2slot(!) tank while ripping everything with four digit dps over 60km optimal.
aside from marauders, there are a few ships that will generally perform better than the apoc if you spend some time skilling into them, namely Nightmare, Machariel, Navy Raven and to a lesser extent navy scorp, rattlesnake, dominix, typhoon, ishtar and tengu.

Evening buddy,
Honestly, I think you answered your own question. I recently upgraded to a Navy Apoc and although its not a massive difference over a regular Apoc, you still get the extra bonuses and every little counts at the end of the day. The extra low slot is awesome to!
T2 guns will obviously maximise your DPS, the Scorch crystals for me are amazing. I am not overly thrilled by the Conflag just yet as the INMF does a good job, but anything under 75km just gets destroyed by Scorch.
Missioning in Amarr space obviously helps, with lasers being focused on EM/Therm making the best use of that means missions are cleared quick etc.
I appreciate that its either a big money investment in a Navy ship, or a big time investment in T2 guns, but if your already clearing every L4 thrown at you, more damage will only make it quicker!
Best of luck,

Thanks for the quick replies. Marauders will, I suppose, be the eventual ship I aim for.
Running through EFT, T2 guns and scorch/conflag definitely will make a difference, so I will aim for that in the short-ish term.
For now, I'm experimenting with ABs and MJD to avoid slowboating times at least! |

Fitted up a Paladin earlier and its just scarily good at the moment. With a basic fit it was 800+ specific tank, 1000+ DPS and awesome tracking. 55 days off mine, cannot wait!
AB/MJD are definitely worth experimenting with buddy, EvESurvival which I assume you use, normally says when its advisable to fit either/or which is always a good shout.
As for the T2's, get them! Especially in the Apoc with the Optimal Range bonus, the Pulse's hit out to ~75km with Scorch and up to 30km with INMF/Conflag which isn't Paladin good, but sure does make light work of 95% of missions!

I'm a max skilled paladin pilot, but honestly I've been using a navy issued domi. I like it better because I chave the ability to change damage type as well as have an AB and MJD. Plus it's cheaper and less of a loot pi+Ĥata. Super cali hella yolo swaga dopeness. -á-Yoloswaggins, in the fellowship of the bling. |

Try fitting up a sniping Apoc with high alpha. Put on a MJD, jump out to range and kill everything as it comes into range. You will have to watch the MJD timer as it takes 3 minutes for you to use it again. |
