After the incorporation of the new Traffic Contol System, we need a more visual display of the current status of Stargates. Good old Traffic lights spring to mind, this time in humoungous sizes hovering above Stargates.
Red is "no Go", Green is "should be okay, perhaps", mad flashing orange signals "i am trying to decide so hurry the **** up"
Alternativly big red stop signs above shut down Stargates could indicate aswell that maybe it doesnt work atm.
The loyal taxpayer might now ask, "Why spend my money for that beside the shiny lights?". Well our scientist have predicted that whines and concerns about the new system, (especially involving PvP) might be cut down by staggering 30% (thats 3 pages a day folks!)
plz support us in this case, the benefits are clear we believe!
and no seriously i wouldnt mind traffic lights

Red means stop.
Green means go.
Yellow means go very fast.

to better visualize the volatility of the situation, in as that it could change any sec to either green or red, gotta grab the attention!

or shut off all the lights on a down jump gate, for instance turn off the searchlights on caldari ones, and just make them look like they are turned off would be cool.

Traffic lights sound like a good idea...
...unfortunately lag would mean the only light you'd see was green. CCP would have to implement a whole new traffic advisory system to inform you that, 'despite the traffic light you are viewing indicating you can jump, you can't because the lag from the system you were about to jump into is affecting the traffic light system. The green light you are currently viewing is actually red...server rebooting in 14 minutes etc etc.'

Ok stop.
You are forgeting ofcourse that a great majority of the playerbase plays from afar while doing the dishes, cleaning the house, or out shoping.
Ohh and why i think the deactivation of the AP is a GREAT idea

i agree, roundabouts are one of the best inventions ever- im sure we can implement these into eve.

autopilots should plot around systems like Jita anyway unless that is the destination. i dont have to drive through the heart of NYC to reach New Jersey, i plot around.

on the gate? pretty useless when you have to turn round and warp out with the snipers on you. As a new window on your UI showing you gate status in the system maybe.
