Edited by: Mala Kai on 05/03/2006 02:48:05 I would like to becme CEO of my corp..
The thing is that we have 6 members, but no one of the others have been logged on for months.. I assume thay have stopped playing..
How can I take control of the corp?
Do I need any skills to do it?

Petition it to GMs. No matter what you say, you will get a standardised answer back saying to create a vote or whatever. If you don't have enough shares and your CEO is inactive, reply to the petition telling them this and they should make your CEO after the next downtime.

Edited by: Audrea on 05/03/2006 16:05:49 It doesnt sound right at all Shin Ra. Suppose I am ceo of a corp, and I bought a T2 bpo and locked it down or something. now me and all members except one for some reasons are inactive for, say, a year for various reasons (likepassed to the next life, and trying to get in touch with ccp ).
Now if that player gets his wishes from GM and takes over he can take all my assets in corp and then quit or something.

That how I became CEO. The CEO's account was inactive and the GM's had no problems doing this.

Well isent it better to just quit the corp and make your owne or joian another corp that have active members? Performing the ancient and noble art of killing eachothers. |

also, who the hell leaves a personal t2 BPO in the corp hanger? They'd just leave it in their own hanger.

That was just an example. say I am ceo of 5 man corp. we worked together, bought expensive bpo. and then 4 members go inactive for a year. does that mean the last member has the right to 'take over' and getting in position where he can strip the corp off its assets while the rest are inactive? -I dont think its right, imo. ---------------------------------------------- All my posts are my own opinions and dont not represent any organization until stated otherwise, if that wasnt clear to anyone :) |

The counter argument to your argument is ... what if I, being a generous person, told the corp that it could use the T2 BPO that I got from my research agent? Corp goes inactive and my T2 BPO is locked away in the corp hangar.

Once you account goes inactive for a prolonged time, you forfeit your rights to your 'ownership' of the stuff in your corp hangar, as far as you had any to start with.
I mean, how the hell does that not make sense ? You really feel that a corp that wants to liquidate and dissolve needs to contact anc consult all ex-members that are now inactive somehow to make sure they get their share

i would say it;s the current ceo's own fault for not logging in and removing his stuff before goining inactive. Granted, things come up, you get sick, after to be in the hospitol, etc, when thouse things happen you have bigger thning to worry about then eve. but when you jump to a new game, have too much work or some other excuse it takes 5 min to log in, move your stuff from the corp hanger, and resign as ceo or log out again

I have been in a similar situation with THEMM which went inactive for very very long time. Unlike Shin Ra, however, I could not gain control.
Anyway, most people I know in game are honorable and in the event that an inactive member returns wishing to claim his/her bp's, most people I know would either flat out give what is rightfully the other person's or work out an agreement of some sort. If someone remembers what belongs to whom, the honest and honorable thing to do would be to drop the items into personal hangars.
As for personal bp's, most corpies I know of will send out a corpmail to let others know what s/he has. This can serve dual purposes, the first being to "share the wealth/resources," the second to make known who owns what to make certain the owner maintains his/her property in the event s/he leaves the corp.
