Since the Rubicon update and most recently the patch just prior to Twitch rollout I have experienced the Eve client using VASTLY more CPU than before.
When I load up my machine it idles around 5% CPU utilization but as soon as I open and login to Eve the client makes the CPU Utilization go up to 75%+
I used to run 3 accounts simultaneously but now I can barely run 2 on the lowest settings! I used to run all 3 at medium.
I have tried overclocking the CPU and updating GPU driver software just in case without success.
When I turn off ALL sounds from the client the CPU utilization goes down to around 50-60% but I do use these sounds and find it unacceptable that I am no longer able to run 3 accounts as I did before. Even with the sound off I cannot run 3 at the same time.
Please can you let me know what I can do to rectify this?
Thanks.

Looking through older posts I should also state:
I use Windowed Mode for all clients not full screen. Fixed Window made a SLIGHT difference (5% CPU) but does not play nicely with 2 screens and a taskbar that keep popping up so I cannot run with this long term.
I have changed the client to DX9 as opposed to DX11 - made zero difference.
Also report that whenever a call back to server for the local market is made client stops for a second until information has been displayed.
When client does stutter the sound also stutters a lot. |

some stat on your comp would help, cpu / ram / gpu / OS etc....
on my side, didn't noticed any change, but i do have a pretty robust rig so eve was never a big workload on it
actually sitting at 9-11% cpu with 2 accounts running fixed window 3200*1080 |

Yeah I am getting issues with high CPU usage as well,Noticeably whenever I do have EVE running the computer likes to freeze for a few seconds every once in a while.I only have one client running in windowed mode but this only started happening after Rubicon deployment This Is A Signiture,It Does stuff |

System Spec: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz - overclocked to 3.8GHz with no change in performance 8GB RAM Nvidia GeForce GT 640 2GB
Running 2 screens both 1920x1080 Windowed mode on each client.
Only others things I run is TS3, EveMon and Chrome. Even when running just TS3 makes no difference. |

Things to try:
- Make sure the issue isn't caused by any 3rd party software, like chat overlays.
- Make sure you have the latest drivers.
If none of the above helps, please run with LogServer (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Logserver) and file a bug report (https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Bug_reporting) attaching the log. This may give me some info on what is going on. Put my name in the title of the bug report to ensure it gets routed to me right away. |

I do not use any chat overlays and have tried running with nothing else in the background without success.
I will run this tonight and send to you when I get back home.

Got the logs - there are some interesting things there I need to go over with my colleagues in the office tomorrow. Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this soon! |

Thanks - the logs I sent were ran with only Chrome open with the above links you sent open. I had turned on the machine ~5 minutes prior to starting to eliminate any uptime issues. |

Is it possible there was some virus scanning or something like that going on? I have seen indications of freezes where creating or opening files stalled for a long time (several seconds) that I haven't been able to reproduce - one theory is that some virus scanning tools are interfering with disk access.

I have AVG Free running in the background and have done for months. I can try stopping this process and run the logs again if you wish but this is not a new AV installation... |

It's a long shot, but I'd like to rule it out, so yes, try shutting it down and see if it makes any difference. |

No problem I shall do when I get home from work and let you know. Would you like to do it with LogServer running again or just update you with findings? |

Slight increase in performance but not great. Found the following on two tests:
Test 1: Clients on Lowest Settings No Audio: Base CPU with AV running: 10% Base CPU with no AV running: 5% 1 Client: Loading 30% Done 10% 2 Clients: Loading 35% Done 10% 3 Clients: Loading 50% Done 25%
Test 2: Clients on my normal settings with audio enabled: 1 Client: Loading 35% Done 50% 2 Clients: Loading 60% Done 75% 3 Clients: Loading 85% Done 90% Third Client when Loading went Not Responding for around 10 seconds before continuing
When the screen was loading the text blurs into one on the second test - i.e. the Loading Data/Done Loading Bulk Data blurs into one thing.
My 'normal' settings are: Interval Immediate, Anti-Aliasing Medium, Post Processing High, Shader Quality Medium, Texture Quality Medium, LOD Quality Medium, Shadow Quality Low, Interior Effects High, Interior Shader Quality High All Effects are ON and Audio is Enabled.
Obviously it is usable on Lowest settings but I have not had to do this prior to the update and it is not good to have to run the game with AV disabled! |

OK, anybody experiencing this problem, please file a bug report with the in-game bug reporting tool. This way I get your system info, as well as logs with warnings and errors, so it's best if you file it after experiencing some of the freezes you describe. Give as much detail as you can in the description. Please use the same title as this thread, CPU usage after Rubicon patch - I'll look for those bug reports.
I'll talk to the audio guys - it's seems that's at least an aggravating factor.
It's hard for me to gauge how widespread this issue is, so if you know of corp mates or others who have experienced these same symptoms have them file bug reports as well. |

This may be the same issue - the more info I get the more chance I have of finding a fix. |

I'm currently having the same issue here, I usually stays at 60 fps when I have single account open but as soon as I open 2nd account I experience heavy CPU usage and low fps on both accounts around 13- 17 fps. I never had an issue to work in multiple accounts at same time before Rubicon but now this start getting silly, almost one month after the release the expansion with multiple hot fix patches but CCP never touched this subject. |

Do you see this under DX9 as well?
We have not been able to reproduce this issue in house, making it that much more difficult for us to track down and fix - it's not for lack of trying. |
