Lets face it in the real world there is no jub where you get hired, and they say "here is your office, see you at the x-mas party" in febuary!
When you are hired you you are expected to contribute!
Well here is the Job idea
Every NPC corp when you join starts you at a a standing of 10.0
Each week you are given a mandatory missions, if you complete the mission then you get 1.0 standing increase (useing whole number to ilistrate the point only). If you fail the mission, or don't complete it then you get a -1.0 faction adjustment.
Since this is a game, lets say they can't fire you! so if your standing reaches 0.0 or below then you are not able to use that companys station resources, no mfg, no clone jumping,...
But optionaly you can do a mission that is extra from your job misions, but only one per day. these net you a 0.5 incresa for completion and a 0.0 for non completion. this lets you build up your standing through hard work, and create a buffer if you need to be away for a couple of weeks.
Also if you have a 0.0 job standing other NPC corps won't hire you.

good idea, but the standing is waaaay to much. i'd days a standing of mebbe 1 or 2, and 0.1 increments or less

the numbers i used where just for easy clarification of what i was after.
0.1 would work just as easy.
the big take away is that you have to provide something for the NPC corp on a regular bases or they should fire your ass.

This idea would certainly counter ISK farmers

It achieves nothing but annoying large numbers of people.
Don't think of your noob corp as being a corporation in the traditional sense. Think of it as being an allumni association from having graduated at whatever your university/college/flight school/whatever was.

lets just have it 3 months in game if u aint in a corp then u are unable to compelte any market transactions - u are unable to mine. Of course quitting a existing player corp u would get a week to join or create another player corp before the above also kicks in - ISK farmers would all be forced into player corps and therefore war dec'able. Newbies have 3 months and then they to are forced into a player corp
CCP wants massively multiplayer in cooprative corps guilds etc then this is the way to achive it. CCP requested feature please - quite simple really.
For CEOs days since last login details on all members in their Corp. this will help manage inactives and those that dont log in can be removed - |

all that would result is 500,000 1 man corps as all the nubs create corps after 3 months then they join a player corp then they make another nub corp etc.

And more to the negative, this will penalize casual players that play once or twice a week. Specially when for any reason (you know, living outside EvE) (s)he's forced not to play on his playing day.
Grind is bad, compulsory grind is worse, compulsory grind that creates a nuisance if you don't comply with it is the worst.
Have fun.

Edited by: Rask on 06/03/2006 15:27:52 My original idea want not to create grind!
If it is a single agent missions a week ( 20- 30 min tops) to maintain your standing, that is not to bad.
But it limits the PC to the area where his NPC corp actuly has agents, they can't stray far. For the real player this would be a problem, so why not join a Player corp, there are many corps that do care bear, pirate, trader, 0.0 ,...
And this isn't about stopping the isk farmers, for that I would like a system where any player once per day can ping another player (say 1 mil isk service charge) and that player gets one of those boxes popup non modal (ie you can still play the game with it up...) randomly located box with one of those mangled words boxes, the player has 20 min to enter the code. The target player would also have to not have his autopilot set at the time.
If the target doesn't respond (and the dialog box goes away), this goes into a ingame queue for the GM to look into, they spend some time watching the player in question. If they look like they are macro mining, they Ban the B*ch and refund the 1 mil isk. If it is a faulse report then the isk are gone.
The bottom line is the GM's are overloaded, so give us the tools to help them!
