I can see this is beeing the fall for eve, honestly. You always see that people leave X game for Y reason becuse the Y thing made the game soo different. I can see this beeing the Y cause in EVE :/

I had a traffic advisory on the MHC gate in Harroule yesterday when some MENTL inties were chasing me. What was really stupid about that is that the only people that had gone through the gate recently were the Frogs that had been running a gatecamp there.

How much warning have you had that the server is currently screwy? 48 hours? 72 hours? ******* dock and train a skill. Come back in a couple of days.

yes this new 'feature' is scary atm, but give it some time till ccp fixes the memory leak in the nodes after that those gate shutdowns should become pretty rare. remember how well the hubs were running after the hardware upgrade?

Some of us can only hope.
If a player is unable to adapt and overcome, EVE is not the game for them. That is just one of the great things about this game. No two scenarios are ever exactly the same. Survival of the fittest and most creative/ imaginative.
Edit: Need to clarify the first sentence. I do not hope that it spells out the downfall of EVE, I only hope that it eliminates the weak minded.

yer i can understand your concern there. Happend to me while traveling in 0.0, lucky for me there were no hostiles around. And the most annoying thing is the system i was in was empty and so was the the system i was jumping to, so it was not like there was heavy traffic ect...

The problem is, this isn't somthing that a player can really adapt to. Its random and out side the influance of the player population.
When you expect the game to function in the way it should, and then it doesn't there's no way you can really adapt to it. Nor can any creative thinking or imaination save you when the game isn't working as indended.
And to the person who took one look at the player posting this, and flamed them because they belong to a PVP corp, get your head on straight. This is an example of a broken game mechanic, and one thats going to effect more then the pvp population in one way or anouther, mostly negativly.
Taking one look at a persons play style, then falming his concern, only serves to make you look dumb, biased, and your argument without any merit, because its based on nothing more then a unwarrented disslike for a charactos role in the game.

If that is directed at me, then I must laugh. I have no idea of the op's playing style nor do I care. We are presented with obstacles every day. Whether you are a pvp, pve, or whatever type of player. If you cannot adapt to a situation and just sit there dumbfounded at a situation, that is your problem, no one else's.

lol! the feature's borked atm, when it's working it'll just apply to hub systems that get overcrowded and screw up, right now the mem leak is causing it to appear everywhere. . . - - - - - - - -

Edited by: Cyrus Gideon on 05/03/2006 19:05:05 I think a good solution to the whole problem with gate shutdowns and jumpqueues would be to change the gatecloaking system so that it gets activated as soon as the ship is in jumpposition. He could then wait there safely untill hes free to jump, and if he moves or acrivates a module he would get decloaked as normally.

I was in Aunenen the other day and getting ready to go out, thought I'd jump in a shuttle and park myself in Nonni.
Got to Nonni and there were various indies and what not stuck at the Nonni gate... "Love I'm going to be 10 minutes!" "no you wont!!!" bah bugga.
Anyhoo, last night I was in 0.0 and it was dead, decided to try the next system and I couldn't jump awesome

No.
If it's more than a temporary solution until they've fixed the memory leak, then yes it will definitely cause some people to leave.
Take 0.0 warfare for example. All you have to do to kill the enemy off 1 by 1 is to blob up a system, and it'll be impossible for the enemies to attack on a massive scale.
Could you imagine what this means for pos wars? The enemy is shooting your pos, but you're not even allowed to enter the system to defend it. How would that feel? _____________________________________ meep meep |

Narrowly escaped getting away ? If you guys were not full of WCS you would have died, how much structer was the scorp on before he warped off ? I had 2 warp jammers on him and my mate had one.... Go figure.
Anyways this is not the Topic for you to rant on. If you have nothing constructive to add to what the OP has to say then dont post.
