..on these forums about some ideas, like rational and reason, class warfare, socialism, capitalism, to name but a few.
It is pretty easy to throw around a phrase like "be rational" or "you capitalist pig-dog" - but how many actually know what it means (well, except the pig-dog bit)? To make matters worse some folks have a different definition of what something means.
I'm not here to say you're right by what you mean, but rather to encourage those involved in some of these rather heated (and entertaining) threads to explain what they mean by some of what they say.
After all, if you can't say what you mean...

Because most of the people posting here are not posting to put across their point of view, or its meaninings, but to instead obstruct and cloud yours.

Capitalism. Derived from the word capital, means wealth in the form of money or property, used or accumulated in a business by a person, partnership, or corporation.
To put it bluntly, capitalism means to be solely motivated by the prospect of material gains.

Quite possibly Tehel, but please dont try to say that you dont do that yourself. You and your corp are just as guilty of that as the NVA. There are many people attempting to put across their point of view, some do it better than others.
As you say Karif, some people have different definitions of what something means, and that's down to the individual person......there's no way around that, unfortunately.

I have to admit, I have never seen a "pig-dog."
It is funny hearing corporations like TTI refer to concepts such as a coalition sharing wealth for common purpose as "communist" or "Marxist." While there may be corporations in this game who take 100% of their members' wealth and redistribute it, I have yet to hear of a true communist endeavor hear in Eve. While I do believe in capitalistic ideals, such as personal responsibility, individual empowerment, and the power of the free market, the term "communist" or even "socialist" is too often bandied about where not applicable. There's a proper balance to be found between individual empowerment and the greater power of the unified collective.
What it boils down to is this: The speech to which you refer is part of the propaganda effort to influence those who either do not fully understand a given situation and the parties involved, or who have a preexisting grudge against a particular party or person.
The pen is mightier than the sword, and those skilled in manipulating peoples' opinions are the most powerful of all warriors.

People often seem to mistake capitalism with avarice. Capitalism is an economic system. Avarice is a sin. One can be a successful capitalist and maintain integrity and honor. One who is guilty of avarice is clearly a danger to any cooperative, no matter the economic philosophy.

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised at the results.
However, I can't help but observe some things:
The so-called capitalist refuses to answer and the so-called socialist(s?) only define capitalism.
This I find funny...but that's probably just me.
