Have the same problem. Did a little digging and the CCP response when this happened in the past seems to be "wait and it will go away eventually". :(

I have to go to work in two hours and my training is finishing in 4. So i have a sneaky feeling that'll lost 10 hours of training today

IIRC this only affects certain regions of space, but it seems to be everywhere this morning. Can't get any of my characters into the game.

Yeah, mine is up in about 6 minutes and was going to pick another and go to bed...ill hold out as long as possible

Getting the same problem.
Trying to log in to Andrub system, Kador region. Same with both accounts, unfortunately.

Someone in the 'Knwon Issues' forum, said all three characters, which are all in different regions, get the same problem...

Proxy is dead here too.
Last night, I hesitate between a long skill and one that would have finished this morning.
I'm happy to have made the good choice, until server is somewhat stable, i advice you to do so... :S

Nope, not fixed as of yet.
I was in the middle of a few market transactions when I was dropped from the game, only to receive the message mentioned by the OP regarding the proxy error.
I'm wondering what just happened.

Take a look at your player count when you first log in. . .it never changes. So when we succesfully get to the player screen we are not actually connected to the main node/cluster.

You're right, 12.350 every time. So that would mean nobody is in right now? I hope the CCP DBA's have SMS warnings on "nodes down" 
Which brings be to a question I've been curious about for some time: does CCP have some sort of monitoring service 23/7? Maybe a control room with a team watching the server stats?
