Ok, so I already had two accounts that I support with GTC. I took advantage of the Power of 2 special and created a 3rd account. I'm mostly a miner, so got on combat char who tanks, one miner (hulk ready soon) and my 3rdaccount who will haul.
I was looking at the Hulk's attributes and it seems like it might be good enought of a tank. I heard something about a Gistii-A SB ?

If I can hold a good tank with the Hulk my combat char can go PvP or Ratting...
Any setup for the meds would be appreciated...

3x Strip miner
Gistii A-Type small booster, Dread guristas Amp
2x NPC specific active hardeners
Power diagnostic II, Damage control
Lets me tank triple 1.55m battleship spawns with 3x cruiser support.
I dont like to run 'super mining' setups because truth be told it is actually a little -too- fast, and if tank crashes/hostiles warp in I am toast. This thing can tank a gank raven with javelin torps and T2 target painters.
I usually chuck 5 valkyries in drone bay and when NPCs warp in I just kill them. The tank is always on and it does 3600m3 a cycle per hulk.

ASCN knows all...
No 10% ? Could the tank be sustainable without the damage control and PDU II?

Yes since the Gistii uses something insane like 2 cap per second which should be nothing

So only the apoc and hulk can setup 0.0 tanks that are sustainable without losing your mining ability.

Actually the Domi is more suitable for 0.0 mining since the Apoc has to sacrifice lows for cpu for 8 miners where as the domi can tank anything with 6...
Thats what Im doign atm... tank with my alt and mine in his domi, mine in a retriever with halada while my 3rd account hauls... BUT, if I dont need my 2nd account to tank, he can go rat, which will make more ISK per hour for me...
Just so I know, how much should I save for the Gistii and Dread guristas Amp ?

But when you are mining, you can keep 8 DCM II's or 8 Miner II's and pull in over 1000m3 per minute (including drones) and tank the spawn. Sure, you have less lows, but you can maintain a 23/7 tank.
You could use 6 turrets of the apoc if you so desire to keep lows, but the Apoc -> Hulk is the only things that can optimally mine in 0.0

Tulia, I'm interested in knowing which skills you have in shield and cap? If that Tank is only sustainable with all skills at V I have a lot of training to do.

I use 3 x Mod strip Miner IIs with T2 crystals
1 Gistii A-Type small SB
1 Copasetic Amp (shield booster Amplifier)
1 Dread G +40% passive explo
1 Dread G +40% Passive Kin
Obviously u can change around the sheild hardeners to suit your rats offense.
Low I use
1 PDS II
1 Mining Upgrade Mod
No I don't have shield skills at L5 in fact I hardly have ANY shield skills coming from a heavy duty Apoc user and thus armour tanker.
You have to watch the mod strip miner IIs, if you fire them all off at once you run the risk of turning off the Shield booster (has happened) so stagger them.
With normal Strip Miner IIs that isn't a problem, guess a lot of that is to do with the mining upgrade mod.
If I'm not tanking I offline the Shield Amp and fit a second mining upgrade module.
With both Explosive and Kinetic passive shield skills at L4 you have almost 90% explo and 80% kin resists but it's totally passive

mod strip II are only good for merx... you mine merx all the time?
Gistii-A needs 6.5 Cap per second. 3xStrips II will use 120cap per second. Two hardeners will use 4 cap per second. So all-in-all, 130.5cap every second.
A Hulk with capskill at IV will have 600cap and a 120cap/s recharge, 288cap/s recharge at peak.
There is no way a Hulk will run out of cap with that setup. FYI, Deep Core Miners II use 90 per cycle instead of 120 for regular Strip II.

Modulated Strip Miner IIs are the crystal using uber mining beams that can't use merc crystals....
Modulated Deep Core Strip Miner IIs are the Merc beamies.

There are two versions:
Modulated Strip Miners II
Modualted Deep Core Miners II
There's a not "regular" strip miners II. Both use crystals, and the deep core version is for merx mining, where as the non-deep core version use crystal of any kind but merx.
