It looks as if I might be beating a dead horse with the forum vets here but I am new and just wanted to be clear.
I am Caldari.
I am currently in a Caracal and destroying all level 2 missions handily.
Should I waste time furthering my missile skills or are missiles merely a transitional skill for use in this Caracal and I just get to pre-training for the turret damage skills now instead of fleshing out all of the missile side?
It can be a quick answer, don't want to resurrect an age-old.

You're Caldari. What ship are you planning on using?
If it's a railboat (Moa or the upcoming T3 BS, go for rails), go rails. If it's missles (Caracal, Cerberus, Raven), go missles).

The ship I will end up using really depends on the answer to my question, I suppose. If missiles are viable in PvP in the end game, then I can continue up the ladder of missile ships, if not, then I need to switch.
This is really the question I am asking, I guess: are missile bearing ships relatively formidable in end-game?

Nobody here yet knows how the Tier 3 Battleship will perform. The Raven is supposedly (this is secondhand info coming from me) a terrific ship that quite a few people think needs to be nerfed. The only downside I've heard of for it is that missles are slow. This means you'll be negligible for ganking and you're going to miss out on quite a few killmails. But, you'll still be very good (to the point where people will cry that you should be nerfed) for fleet ops against opponents that aren't warping away at the sight of you.

Missile ships are very powerful throughout any part of the game. If you like them stick with them.

yea with tier 3 bs being railgun boat.
i feel so screwed with my 3 mil sp in missiels and 400k in gunnery,

Thanks for the input, fellas.
I just noticed the Battlecruisers had the Ferox and didn't see any missile ships in that class so that got me worried.
However, I had no idea the Cerberus even existed and looks to be exactly what I'd like on my way to a Raven - which I've seen people talk about as being powerful like you say.

There is no endgame in EVE. The Cerebus is a Heavy Assault Cruiser, which takes longer to train for and costs more then a battleship.

Unless you want to become involved with alliance warfare and fleetbattles, missiles are perfectly fine :)

People usually go for the Raven first and Cerb second ( cerb costs ~180mill and you can't insure it ).

There is supposed to be a missile tier 2 battlecruiser that comes out in Kali.

missiles are better and take slightly less to train than guns. The only thing you can't do with missiles is snipe...
