Guys
What do i need to max out damage and range on an Eagle ?
High 4 x 250 T2 Rails (with Spike M ammo) 2 X T2 Assaults (in case inties get too close)
Med 1 x T2 tracking comp 3 x T2 Sensor Boosters 1 T2 AB
Low 2 x T2 Mag Stabs 1 x T2 Tracking Link 1 x T2 PDU
Skills Presume all at least rank 4-5
Controlled Bursts Rapid Fire Motion Prediction Sharpshooter Surgical Strike Trajectory Analysis Long Range Targeting
I want to hit very hard and fast at uber ranges ! What would you change on the ship setup ? and what extra skills would you require ?

Edited by: Ortu Konsinni on 08/03/2006 01:11:15 Personally, I'd use 2x tracking comps and 2x sensor boosters, not 1x tracking comp and 3x sensor boosters.
And in the lows, I'd just put 3x mag stabs and 1x tracking enhancer. Screw that PDU, you don't need it for grid, you're not tanking, so use your lows for offense :)
The rest is fine.
With this setup, with all gunnery support skills at 4 and long range targeting at 4, you get 204km optimal and 204km max lock range, with instalock (or near-insta) on anything bigger than a frigate. Frigates and pods get locked pretty fast, too (2-3 seconds). --- Ship Gallery |

Also get rid of your AB you dont need it put on a passive tageter. It will help alot with supprise so the ints and frigs wont know whats happerning till its too late |

right i use the 2 track comp 2 sensor booster and 3 dmg mod + 1 track enhancer fitt
And for the last mid slot u got go for 1 more sensor booster or 1 passive targeter or will switch for a large shield ext T2 if i gonna have hard time and know it

I beleive a t2 painter would also help in this extra mid slot i agree tha AB is useless can help only approach gates faster when travel. But i was thinking that having 200 or even 150k optimal should not be primary concern except if u want to use it as part of a gate camp. But really who needs all this range. If u are not gonna camp gates i think most likely u will confront ur target at 50km< so better setup for this fight and not the ideal that u will be sitting 200 from a gate and u will se a ship warping to gate which if its not a frig it most propably have time to warp away. BUt wait wasnt this a SNIPING eagle POST

hehe yeah this was a sniping post. I agree the target painter would be useless as the range isnt ideal at all. Imho the extra mid has to either be a sensor booster or a passive targeter. I have used both and i prefer the passive targert it seems to work alot more efective cos the int/frig piolts dont know whats happerning till its nearly too late

Yeah u are right its useless for these kind of ranges but again it will do wonders to ur dmg from 90k and down and its a bit naive to beleive that everything will go as planned and nobody will ever appear below 100k from u
But again a passive targ is very evil and usefull for sniping ships but it helps u with frigs only so its up to the pilot to be a bit more evil
or more multyfunctional

I think u are gonna have a hard time hitting a fast target below 30km without a painter

Even with a painter it is still very hard to hit with 250mm rails with tracking computers and enhancers. imho The eagle works best either has a sniper with 250mm rails or close range with heavy blasters.

Interceptors are hard to hit because of their speed, not their sig radius. A target painter wont do anything, a web would (assuming they actually get within 10km).
