just recently had to sell my gaming rig due to a move, now settled in i have a m17x laptop (Alienware)
i play eve very late at night and sometimes use headphones, just installed teamspeak last night and when i go to corp channel all game sound is eliminated and all i have is teamspeak sound, is there something i need to tick in eve setup/config? if i disconnect from teamspeak all game sound is restored..........

sounds like TS is not sharing your output
wouldn't think a AW had sub-par audio
I'd look at the configs for TS and windows sound settings.
some chipsets break everything up into discreet inputs and sometimes you have to expressly select more than one input into the mix for you to hear everything.
that's just a wild guess without knowing more

thanks for the ideas, having never used teamspeak before its a bit of trial and error for me.
the headset is in perfect working order i use sennheiser hd600's, the soundcard is perfect working order too, probably just the settings i need to figure out.

Win7 has the feature to tune down the volume of all other programms when you use a programm that natively uses your Mic. SO you can justr eadjust the settings in the "Mixer" settings of your volume control. At least my Win7 has a slider for each programm seprately there |

Seems normal to me. I only want to hear corp chat when in TS.
If I want to hear game sounds I run them off the sound card .
It's an old habit from my combat flight sim days. Adds to immersion.

Does it dissappear even when TS is silent for more than a few seconds? If so check the settings for Volume Control in settings->plugins.
Otherwise it may be a output conflict as stated above. |

sorted it was in the communication tab win7 was muting all other sounds by 80% |
