I was guarding fellow corp's mining barge in Indregulle and this guy came from NOWHERE in a Arbitrator force recon ship.
I had time to nothing as my cap was demolished :( He held me ransom for a half hour before doing his business. I did not have the cash to pay ransom and i dont for insurance either. The @##$#@ would not negotiate either.
This sucks.
Watch out it was all over in less than 30 seconds for my ferox. Brand NEW ferox even.

Always watch local. You probably would have seen him come in and moved before he got to you.
Also, 90% of people who say they dont have the money suddenly come up with it when their ship is gonna die. Most pirates dont believe it and would rather blow the ship up than take a lower ransom. If you want to pay, NEVER fire on the pirate or as a principle, some will just kill you. Others will tell you to stop and then ransom you but thats all down to choice. Most ransom pirates will take you to low armor or structure before they attempt to ransom, do not attempt to repair your shields/armor or they might just kill you. If you want to pay, start a convo with the pirate when they are shooting your shields, do not attempt to repair or move.
If you don't have the isk, ask a friend or your corp. Also you should insure unless you can afford to replace the full cost and as always, if you cant afford to lose it, don't fly it in lowsec.
I cant believe he held you for 30 minutes. That is just asking for a backup force to come for him. I assume the time frame is somewhat incorrect but still. If people dont pay me after a few minutes they are toast. I can make more money by killing you and finding the next person to ransom than waiting while people stall for time while their friends kit up to come get me.

It seems like Indgregule is a pretty dangerous system for a "quiet" system with no stations.
I've killed a raven and a deimos that attacked me there in the past couple of days.
Our corp also liberated a large POS there a week ago after we killed the people unanchoring it.
P.S. You need to check local more often. That system has a LOT of belts. You should have plenty of heads up warning.

So I was in my mining barge doing the unthinkable while my daughter came into the room to complain how her McDonalds sausage was disgusting. I look up to hear a target lock on my wife's char I was playing. A friendly ArtemisEntreri knocked out my cap, scrambled, webbed and did the work with his Force Recon Ship. I got the barge out but naming my Ferox "Crissy Cum's Covetor" did work as perfect bait. She was going to take the heat.
Predictably I got the chat dialog demanding 15 million or I loose the ship.
I opted to pretend not to have the cash. I only take money from terrorists and will not give it to them
Stonewalling for the win. After 20 minutes of not paying and declining to eject because my clone is up to date, no implants, etc and in general not going to surrender 30 million in starship - he started *****ing about being bored and offered to let me go if I wrote something scary on crime and punishment.
Whatever I should post this to the forum post as well. That way everyone can know that ArtemisEntreri is the real CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW!

Yup, I never really got that either, it is really busy, before tundragon went sniping in empire I believe that system was one of the top empire systems for battleship kills on our kill database.

See now this is where you fall down. Apart from the fact only 2 or 3 people in the whole alliance would recognize your name, Artemis was never in the corp, just your alt, and probably only 2 or 3 would know that also.
