read the subject title :P
I know that drones at the moment are pretty hot as it stands, but i think it would be nice to have something that could expand the drone bay for all ships that can fit it. Imagine some of the tactics available when players suddenly release several unexpected drones from a normally smaller bay ship.
Well folks, what do you think?

I don't think this will happen, because CCP seems to have put some serious and recent thought into drone balancing, and I have to assume that they considered the capacity of the various ships' drone bays.
But I too would like more drone space and have often thought of posting this same idea. I can only hope they keep looking at the various ships and tweaking either the volume of the drones or the capacity of the bays. I don't think the math quite works out on 2 heavy drones in my Hulk, vs. 5 medium drones. Higher numbers always seem to work out for the better, at least in PvE, and I feel like I've put a lot of training into drone skills that I'm never really going to be able to make good use of as it stands now.

Well the Ishtar gives you bonus dronebay per skill level and at max you can hold just as many drones in a Dominix.
I find it better to have fewer drones out, because it's faster to get them all back when in trouble and you have to warp away fast.
I don't want to hear the penalties they'll put for using these kind of dronebay's.

Easily done if CCP agrees...
A reduction in cargo space for an expansion in drone bay, a few megawats and a little cpu time an you have yourself an expanded drone hold so you can carry a heavy instead of a light.
The reduction in cargo would be greater than the bay space gained due to drone support hardware.
A few differing modules with varying sacrifices in cpu, powergrid and cargo space for gains in drone bay space wouldnt hurt the game much at all...

Dronebay Expanders are already in the database, just never released.
