For 3 months the drones hasn't returned correctly to dronebay almost every time. There's usually 1 or 2 drones that slow down right before reaching the ship, so that I have to turn around and get them....
I didn't know where to post this, and the petition system didn't work, and I'm quite annoyed that this never gets fixed or is it just me that have this problem?

Edited by: ROJADEF on 10/03/2006 12:02:20 It's definitely not just you. We've all been talking about this forever. Even the latest "fixes" have not addressed this. For now, just "Return and Orbit" then "Scoop to drone bay"

Actually, the latest patch has messed up my drones listening to other commands as well. When I tell them to attack something a long way off they get bored half way there and go attack other stuff...

I've not had drones returning to bay correctly in all the time I've used them (which is since I moved to passive tanking and had to give up the medslot dedicated to frigate defence)

Ever since yesterdays patch, my drones have started returning and scooping to my ship properly. Still oddness with what/how they attack though.
They're particularly annoying when you are shield boosting a friendly (have em locked for that purpose), no other targets are left and your drones start attacking that person.
It becomes EXTREMELY inconvenient when you are shield boosting someone in empire who is in your gang but not your corp, your drones attack them because you have that person locked and you get concorded because your drones attacked them...
Or did that change as well recently? Rimhawk V8 Interceptors |

Yup,
Drones need to home to the point where ship is after three (3) seconds, and not to the point where it is at the time of the command or navigation update cycle.
(IE: If you move faster than the drones orbit radius, it will never go to drone bay... ) --- Regional Sell orders |

So you have to stop your ship before the drone can scoop ?
Hm that's not great if your down to hull and trying to out run something.

the drone ai isa bit better yes.
the only problem i see atm is the occasional drone will come back to ship and stop at 1600m mark, heh.

The drone AI is a bit better now but yes they still get stuck trying to enter the drone bay.
IF you have killed all hostiles and they return on their own, I find I can always scoop them into the dronebay.
If I order them to return, 1 and sometimes 2 will be forever stuck at 'returning to ship' reguardless of my speed. I then have to turn around or order them to attack something and have them come back.
It doesn't seem to matter how many drones you have, if you have more than 1 it will happen. I am not sure but I think they 'hit' each other comming in and thats what messes up the last in the chain.
