I've read a few old post that my mulled this over a few times but just wanted to drop my 2isk on something new. Maybe someone will know what to do. Anyway, first off, the font...personaly i like it myself. Never had a real problem with it but now that i'm running it on a tv, its too small. I can still read it but not without getting a headake after a while. Really just need a step or two bigger font size option really. The other thing is how eve pics up resolutions. Currently, i have to use a custom resolution on hdtv. The 720i settings normaly would have it run at 1280x720 but my tv needs it a bit smaller. Eve isnt picking up this custom res in fullscreen though, but it will in window mode. To run it full screen, i have to force it by changeing to window mode, then select my custom res and full screen mode before saveing. Is there a way to get eve to pick up that custom res on its own. Its been a while, but back in the day, you use to edit the prefs.ini to force whatever it allowed, but now it seems that doesnt work anymore. btw, there are few joys in the world better then playing eve while sitting in my leather recliner or laying on my couch. _________________________________________________________________ Midshipman Camulos (Mining & Transport) - Logistics Division - Hadean Drive Yards

Try manually editing it into the prefs.ini file inside the \cache folder. Just back it up and make sure you have the resolution numbers right :)

Same with me. I have a second monitor which is a 15 inch widescreen. When I select widescreen from the prefs in Eve, I still get letterbox format but the actual viewable area of Eve is stretched. It doesn't happen with the other games I have that allow widescreen format. On a normal screen, I get letterbox format without the stretching so it seems that CCP has allowed the width of the screen to be increased but it's only useful to have a wider visual area while you are flying.
On a widescreen monitor, it's silly to still have letterbox format.

Letterbox helps you read the ship UI in some systems. The client needs a complete revamp for all the nice and nifty features we would love to see, including custom fonts. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |
